Aren't you being fairly judgy yourself? I don't have many opportunities to dress up and it's one of the reasons I've enjoyed cruising even though my husband doesn't share my enthusiasm. We're sailing Princess for the first time in May 2025 and one of the reasons we chose it was for an upscale experience; a real treat for us. Now it seems I'll be judged for my choice to add a little elegance to my attire. Might want to have that chip on your shoulder looked after before it's unrepairable.

About ten years ago my husband purchased a tuxedo for around $250 plus for the white shirt and black tie and shoes. He wears it any chance he gets and when he was transferred to the UK for his job (at age 64) he had many opportunities to wear it. When we go on a cruise he always packs it and he thinks he is getting his money’s worth and amortizing the cost. I have a couple of evening gowns and my favorite was £15 at a charity shop. We really enjoy getting dressed for the occasion. Get a basic little black dress and it will be perfect, with different accessories, for any occasion. A navy sport coat and basic blue jeans or dockers is appropriate for most dressy nights and won’t break the bank.

Booked a Japan and only The Princess Diamond was available for cruises in 2026 and it only has 2 specialty restaurants and premier was 90 a day this will be our first Princess

Dislike the very idea of the Sun-Strange modern glitz, no warmth, too many people in a Carnival atmosphere with much navigational disorientation. Much rather have Regal, Royal and my favorite the Sapphire! Princess can keep the big ships-I laugh about the recreation removal guffafel on the Sun--what ever will all those poor kids do???

I didn't know we were voting, but I vote "Travel Scouts". I've been watching both for a long time, and I prefer the format of getting right down to the message. Tony's "hands" and flare are okay, but sometimes I'm just not in the mood to waste the time. I want to hear what Tony has to say because it's good and reliable information, but sometimes it takes too long to get there.

I'm almost 2 months out and I cannot make any reservations at any restaurant online... It shows me availability and when I click on it it says no tables are available. No matter what time I do it for no matter what day I do it for it keeps showing me that everything is reserved what do I do

Why do you sound angry even when you are trying to be positive?

They need a higher level and some benefit above Elite. Now they are making it "too" easy to get. We reach Elite this fall and there will be a lot of people jumping into it with 4 cruise counts for one - especially a short cruise. Man book a 4-5 day suite and get 4 cruise credits.

Can i decide which package to buy on embarkation day? If i do that i can use my included onboard credit. It makes a difference. And is there genuine champagne available on the premier package?

A. Most of the time I book 90 days out, grabbing last minute deals. As for the new bio entry system, don't like they are keeping it for 3 years! Six months to a year is long enough!! The information is just too likely to get hacked.

Carnival has had that reputation of being the party cruise line for decades! However it never really was what we think of as a party cruise, but more like their old slogan the fun ship. That is unless you consider the men's knobby knee, men's hairy chest contests, Newlywed game and cookouts by the pool at night as partying. Yes, people drank and there would a few that drank too much, but you will find that on any ship. For many years they were considered the budget friendly, and were even looked down upon by cruiser who went on lines like Princess. Also their target audience was the 35 and younger, where NCL was the budget line for 35 and up. Of course all of that has changed! Today there isn't a budget cruise line, and most except for the premium ones and Virgin are targeting the same people, families. However with that said, in wanting to offer lower cost cruises there has been a large increase of 3 to 5 day cruises offered, and these have become party ships. Especially the 3 and 4 day ones, that most cruisers now just call booze cruises. Mom started cruising when Carnival only had three ships! My first cruise was on the Carnival Fantasy, when she was new and considered to be a large ship! 😂 Glad you tried them out.

OMG, your first cabin made me laugh so hard tears were running down my face! I've been in one of those. It was 20 some years ago on an old NCL ship. It was cheap, and we really don't spend that much time in our cabin so weren't worried about a lower deck, most forward, inside cabin. There were so many firsts on that trip. To start off, most cabins could sleep 4 because they had 2 upper bunks, not this one, so small it could only sleep 3 (2 lower & 1 upper). It was the only time I've ever heard a cabin steward say, "Let me know when you're done unpacking, and I'll put your luggage in storage". There was only enough space for carry ons to fit under the lower bunks! Never needed the alarm clock, the ship's anchor did the job just fine. The bathroom, well lets say it was large compared to the rest of the room, but would have given an airplane restroom a run for the the money for space. Not to say it was small, but you didn't have to worry about falling, there wasn't enough room to fall. 😂 The good news, all 3 of us were experienced cruisers and get along great, and since we were seldom in our cabin except to change clothing or sleep, it was a great cruise.

That 7:30 am out of the cabin on the last morning wouldn't set well with me! The cabin bathroom, 😂😂😂 OMG, that's a throw back to cruising back in the mid 90s. Most ships with those have been scrapped. I'm surprised they don't have a 24/7 place to eat included. Sometimes you just want a late night bite to eat.

My list is slightly different. The non surge power strip is handy, if you are bring more than one or two things that need charging. Little first aid kits are great, I just make my own using a zip lock bag. Besides the normal alcohol wipes, bandaids, 3 in 1 ointment and such, there is a travel size bottle of aspirin, Pepto-Bismol tablets and antacid tablets. Sun screen if you are cruising in a location like the Caribbean. While the ship will sell you some, it's about double the price! No need to do your own laundry on vacation! Heck most cruise lines offer bag days (everything you can squeeze in their laundry bag for a flat rate) mid way through the cruise. However bring a travel size container of spot removal can be priceless, especially if you drink something that stains, like coffee. It just takes one kid to run by and bump you. 😁 Some one and five dollar bills. While you won't need them on the ship, there is off the ship. When you drop off your bags with the porter and tour guides are the most common, but if you want to grab a little snack to eat in port or something to drink like a Coke, or maybe donate to something, they are handy.

I thought this was going to be a light hearted video on the topic, wrong! I made it through the first 5 minutes. First off have never been a swinger or had the desire to do it. However I do understand that there are many cultures and lifestyles on this planet that differ greatly from mine. I don't support looking down or shaming who lives differently than I do. I also don't like when other project their personal judgments and predictions of their happiness or what may or may not happen to them. Of course this is your personal UA-cam channel and you have the right to say what you think, but I think it was in bad taste.

As for the dumb criminals in this case, would have been far more interesting if the cruise line would have just kicked them off in the Bahamas and let their local police handle it! The odd are they were traveling with birth certificates (that may or may not have been theirs) rather than passports. Which means they would have not only deal with being stuck in a foreign country, but with no passport, having to pay for their return trip and then still have US charges waiting for them.

To be honest when you figure how many people cruise and the amount of crime against passengers the risk is much lower than in many other vacation locations or even home cities! Booze cruises are a little more likely, just because of the people they attract. A ship full of young drunk partying just makes me think of South Beach during spring break. ;-)

I'm a volcano junkie! I will take most any opportunity to visit one. However one does need to be smart about doing it! Do a little homework before the cruise, checking out its activity level if active. Second, if using a tour service they are responsible for having the most current data, weighing the risk factor and letting their customers know. The cruise line is only responsible for excursions they book, and making use any tour company they choose has a good reputation. With all this said, volcanoes are part of nature and occasionally do things not expected. So there is some go at your own risk involved.

The cruise ship in New Zealand was Ovation of the Seas, and they took advice from the tour company that it was safe to proceed with the excursion. The tour company knew of the seismic activity but didn't relay that information to the cruise ship. I think the fines should have been in the millions of dollars due to the terrible loss of life due directly to their negligence. This is just my opinion based on information that was made public since the tragedy of White Island.
