I don't think that the lost can get turned into ash, my guess why the reverents do is because only there heart is infected with BOR parasites while the rest of there body is normal, but when they become Lost their whole body is infected

And when the reverents lose there heart they have nothing to keep them going, since they are are just reanimated corpses

From what I understand, the ones on the ground are in hibernation, or just haven't synced to a Mistle so, they get to lay there until they heal up. That's the best I can do lorewise.

They could be, I chalked the design up to them merging with their cold weather gear. Like the spiky Blood Veil

Kind of, right? Half of a dog folding onto the body of a four armed woman. It's a strange way to design a boss that isn't all that unsettling.

the stagger mechanic works pretty well but, it really only comes in with the heavier weapons. I don't like them since it doesn't really feel like I'm swinging a huge axe around.

Did they also try to raid this area

I think they might have been scouting parties, or had a big operation, since it's basically the center of Operation Queenslayer aftermath it makes sense it had the heaviest fighting.
