MaxxAir Fan Repair: Voltage Regulator Install
Переглядів 2894 місяці тому
My MaxxAir brand MaxxFan has been giving me some trouble. I narrowed it down to the input voltage being a little over 1.5V too high. The solution was to install a voltage regulator to limit the voltage to 12V. The symptoms I was having: 1. Press the power button to turn the fan on. 2. Fan opens and operates for about 4 seconds. 3. Fan would beep while flashing the green LED. 4. Fan motor would ...

    There is a quick hack to address the auto blipper issue. You can reset the lever play to .5 or as you prefer within spec then simply bend the blipper swith contact breaker plate to a more open angle and your problems are sorted just bend it very little at a time. You don’t want to bend it too far as this can cause issues with auto blipper in the form of unwanted auto blips.

      100 points of grip. Rear tire grip consists of lean angle and throttle. Some tires can maintain traction at higher forces than this one did. Before the rear tire lost all traction, you can see the bike leave a long black trail before sliding out completely. In this case, too much throttle at the given lean angle exceeded the 100 points of available grip that particular tire had to offer. It was not a track oriented tire. (Pirelli Angel GT)

    • @langhamp8912
      @langhamp8912 2 місяці тому

      @@mk3brent That was some monster speed and lean angle into that turn. I do think that even small power/low output bikes benefit greatly from traction control electronics as you can exceed grip via throttle...just lean more! I did see a large percentage of track bikes using street tires at Barber a few weeks ago. Maybe not Pirelli Angels, but Road 5/6, RoadSmarts, GP300, of that sort. I personally used Metzeler M9RR and had the TC light flash at me several times per lap although I didn't feel any tire slide. I had TC turned up to max, though, and I trust the TC. I'm OK with flat track and dirt bikes, but on pavement everything happens so quickly that you're on the ground even before you realized you've crashed.

With the r&g frame sliders does the clutch cover, stator cover and timing cover and bolts clear the ground when the bike is laid on either side? The reason I ask is I'd like to know if I still need separate protection for them or will the frame sliders alone do the job?

    • @mk3brent
      @mk3brent 2 місяці тому

      @@512460 I am not sure if they would! The frame sliders don’t stick out too far, but would help probably with simple tip overs. I’d opt for some added case covers for more protection.

    • @mk3brent
      @mk3brent 3 місяці тому

      Thanks for commenting! Gear selection for different turns on a racetrack will be a bike dependent situation. In my case, 2nd gear works as a compromise between exit drive and wheelie mitigation/chassis stability. On other bikes, 1st gear may be totally acceptable and even objectively better when comparing the lap time data. I'm a data driven person, so I look at my split time reports and compare which change makes what difference in my overall performance. See what works for you!

      @@stevewill3572 From my experience, I couldn't feel any changes selecting different suspension modes on the bike when my preload adjustments were way off. It was night and day once I got it in range. Check your sag and everything, but throw a simple ziptie on your fork and see what sort of travel you're getting. Also check your air pressures. Are you riding on track or is this on the street?

    Great stuff! I just picked this bike up and I’m having some issues with instability in corners, yours is super planted. Can you share your weight and sag settings to help me please! I weigh 185

    A shirt that matches your tools and extinguisher is a nice choice. :) Fire extinguisher races at the next event.

    B-rent, the man with the van! Pit Bull stand...Graceland edition. That thing looks fast just sitting still. Microphone is a little buzzy in the middle. I also do 1500 mile cycles on my oil/filter changes on the track bikes. Foil trick...I do that. :)

      Mic is a little hot. Will adjust on the next ones. Pretty nice they have volume compensation on the receiver so I can tune that in. 👍

    I'm more of a Alien generator guy. :) Nice vid! These seem to last forever and people love them. Air fryer? Do you take lunch orders?

      Hey Chris! No, it’s part of the S2 kit I have on the bike. I will definitely post some videos when I can.

    Know what weight fork oil came out, went in? And it may be worth noting ride height, especially on the back. 10mm longer shock may be a LOT of ride height.

      I went back to the Penske shock. Fork oil should be the 125/150 again. But would check.

      Hey @scottthecarguy8147, Unfortunately, I don't know. I bought this bike as is, really. Runs great and I've had no problems.
