I recommend you avoid attempting something like world generation. First learn about Factory objects, learn a bit about Object Oriented Programming. Get proper enemy spawning working. Would fit well for this game if walls or furniture items block the player from swinging, he is uncoordinated enough to not use magic after all. You could look into velocity buildup, the longer your staff is spinning the faster it gets, the more damage it does. Sprite transparency on those doors would be cool too.
