@@oda6721 To have the official book say something like that makes 0 sense, why go through the effort of having a litteral plot point being ''she needs female butlers for her female needs'' and killua referring to her as his little sister along with giving her a name that is given to females. And Her using feminine variants of words if he himself confirmed that she's a male. Why go through all this effort? Why not make her more masculine, give her masculine clothes etc. Don't think they thought this one through, wouldve been better not to be confirmed.

@@randomdude4360 Alluka is trans, her family still uses her male pronouns but Killua being the closest and a good older brother uses female pronouns and treats Alluka like a sister. Kalluto is just a crossdresser, male but wears female clothes.

No both alluka and kalluto were born male alluka is trans and that's why killua (the only member of their family who loves her) calls her a girl while the members of the family who don't like her refer to her as a boy. Kalluto is just cross dressing though if i remember correctly their mother likes to dress the children up in her old kimonos when they're young (the last part could be me misremembering though).

Having character(s) who are gender ambiguous means I am free to believe whatever I want. I am not going to be confused by Togashi's lame attempt to brand female-looking characters as males. Togashi even said that Kalluto is based on a Sailor Moon character called Hotaru Tomoe, whom is a female, and they look very similar. What I said above applies to Kalluto alone. For Alluka, she is canonically a girl. Killua said that the only one reason why a female butler (Canary) was required to come with them was because Goto (an "old man") couldn't possibly take care of Alluka's "delicate" needs. Furthermore, the name Alluka is a very feminine name.

@@breadofsalt i mean you are free to believe what you want however what im telling you is canon info not stuff from my imagination both kalluto and alluka are assigned male in the databook. Also I did say alluka was canonically a girl i just said she was a trans girl hence why her family members who hate her refer to her as their brother and don't accept her whereas killua who loves her refers to her as his sister because he loves and accepts her. But as I said you are free to believe what you want.

No. In the manga its clear Kalluto is a girl. It was just sub and dub making same mistake at the same place.

I guess he was actually "was" about to be teach about Nen...but his Father seems to think that "leaving him to learn by himself" is the best way for him to get stronger since he's a natural at it (idk, just my assumption)

my theory is that they wanted to wait until they were sure Killua was devoted to the family as the next heir, since Illumi is using nen to keep Killua in check. the fact that Killua accomplished so much as an assassin without nen is probably why they consider him the most talented zoldyck in history

Still, Alluka's "powers" are far from her gender identity, since that doesn't make sense. Nanika isn't a human, she is not a girl even though she is femenine. Alluka is the girl, Killua said it.
