Both Hatsune Miku and YM2612 have three similarity: made by Yamaha (actually Miku it's Crypton but VOCALOID is Yamaha manufactured) a synthesizer, and it's game made by SEGA. But Ievan Polkka exist a long long way before Miku exist.
Why did you choose PSG/CH1 as main melody?
Is "go" sound a seperate instrument or mixed?
@@ianmeritt it's a sample taken from Run DMC song Peter Piper. Here I layered it with a snare for higher impact, just like was done in Sonic 3 (except they pitched the Go! sound up 5 semitones). Anyway, being a sample, it plays through the DAC channel (FM6).

@@ianmeritt yup. The SN76489 VST from AlyJamesLab. It does have the options for Master System and Genesis output, but I chose direct for the highest clarity.
