John panozzo was a very underrated drummer for sure some of his best drumming is on man of miracles and man did he ever play hard saw his live drum solos five times just awesome
yes i wanted to do something to remind everyone how how good he really was
This is a fantastic album, IMHO. Thanks for the video, mate!
Thanks for doing a feature on Barrie Barlow. He's in my top three of rock drummers for this creativity, technical skill and unbelievable solos. I think he's more unknown than underrated. Some of that is probably due to Jethro Tull being mostly known for Ian Anderson, in fact, many people think that Ian Anderson's name is Jethro Tull!
ian tull lol
All fantastic albums for sure
The drumming in the early priest albums were really good. Simon Phillips was the drummer on the sin after sin album if I’m not mistaken. And yes, stained class one of my all time favorite albums from Priest. Beyond the realms of death! \m/
yes both phillips and les binks fabulous
Rest in peace Eric... We miss you!
Have a blu ray audio of this 5.1 it's great. Bought I robot, like eye better
That chair! LOL...needs the oil.
needs the trash bin lol
Muprh as the Psych Monster....good stuff!
brother murphy visiting lol
Totally agree. Interesting to read Tom Wernam notes about Bun e Carlos involvment into this album drums parts. Brilliant.
I Loved Dressed to kill cover since I was a kid, the original LP had embossed lettering.
yes i remember that
Barriemore is amazing!!
you never realise how good he is to you crank it, one of the best i have ever heard
Great album seen them when they played in Montreal with Alice cooper opening for iron maiden they played the whole seventh son album
This album at times has been pretty close to my favourite they have about 7 straight fantastic albums. maybe their most proggy album
I love the strange days album cover. It’s a group of freaks from a circus (strange people). And a poster of the band like a circus ad. Makes sense.
its odd i have seen a moving version of its cover
Far out ✌️
chillin brother
Well I guess Fagan is going to throw himself under a train because you don't think he measures up. Those that can't do criticize I guess.
Mick Tucker is bloke on the right with black hair.
yes I went and looked at the album I had him mixed up with Andy Scott
Peter & Gordon with the song World Without Love had a pretty funny cover, looking at it now days.
I kind of like the Rush debut cover.
A "strange cover" for Strange days ? Well, you got the purpose of it...
"She said...She said" is never mentioned as a good Ringo performance. I actually think it's his best drumming song in the whole Beatles catalogue.
its different and unique
i posted a beatles vid of she said she said with just the drums, because it shows how good of a drummer ringo is.
That Nectar cover looks exactly like the cover for The Who single Magic Bus.
lol exactly
Hot For Teacher is one of my favorites from 1984. KILLER DRUM INTRO.
yes i forgotten them
Ringo is the greatest.
many feel this way
Mick Tucker is (sorry was) an amazing drummer. Shamefully overlooked. Don’t think so…Check out the live video of “No you don’t”. 👍🍻
I enjoyed the video and yout insightful comments. However, I kike the Nectar cover.
The album that got me into Genesis. The first of theirs I bought. It's probably my favourite still. The opening track, Down and Out, I play the most. Then rope, motherlode, ballad, scenes.
Touché 👍
It is my favourite Genesis album. Incidentally, Phil Collins believes it was their worst album. 😲
Because it was! Selling England, Suppers Ready and Lamb are far better!
@@markh3088 Suppers ready is a track, the album is Seconds Out or Foxtrot. 🤣
I like it & always have. To enjoy it, one simply has to shove-aside obsessional thoughts like, "This isn't exactly like Supper's Ready", and just enjoy it as is. I don't like all of it, but much of it is enjoyable enough.
Very underrated give it a listen
The last great Genesis album. Sadly, underrated by many prog fans.
it is the heaviest drum of their early albums
collins is one of a kind
Great album. I've always loved Vinny Appice's drumming with Dio.
me too
Very good cd! Phil,Tony and Mike do good on it.
I generally dont do playlist, thats why as an album band i class them as number 1. Saucerful, ummagumma, animals and dsotm are my absolute favourites. Every album is great except the'absolute drivel' and momentary lapse (which is ok but not great). Floyd confuse people. But despite being 'different' all the other albums are A or A+.
yes they were definitely unique
IQ, what a brilliant band - eagerly awaiting their new release!
they keep getting better i love them as well
Entertaining video, once more. My personal #1 Pink Floyd album - and pretty much the most important album in my musical education and life is 'Wish you were here'. 'Shine on ...' still totally blows me away. I even like 'Wish you were here' over 'Dark Side ...' (my #2). 'The Wall' completes my Top 3. 'Meddle' and 'Animals' as well as 'Division Bell' are following. Cheers.
Like this video, too. Personally, I would rate 'Duke' and 'Abacab' much higher - they were my introduction to the band when I was 11-12 years young, like '90125' and (backwards) 'Drama' were my introduction to Yes. I also think, those two records are pretty underrated. In my rankings, they are in the Top 5. But, again: I might not be a Prog fan enough. That's probably why I don't care for their alleged masterpiece. 'The Lamb ...' - not my thing. I love 'Carpet Crawlers' - that's pretty much it. 'Tresspass' , 'Trick of a Tale' and 'Selling England ...' complete my Top 5. Cheers.
ok i understand the point of entre is often among our favourites with the band we are listening to.
Like your video. Music taste is individual. No question. So, I would never say/write the stuff you relate to in the end. You are totally right. And rankings are always very personal, connected also to memories and experiences and age. However: I am the one, who does not have 'Close to the Edge' on top of my list. That would be 'The Yes Album' and '90125'. Followed by 'Close to the Edge', 'Yes' (their debut) and 'Time and a Word' as well as 'Drama'. They are all up there. I think, almost every Yes album has sometining to it. Except for one - in my world: 'Tales from Topographic Oceans'. I might not be intellectual enough, or not enough 'Prog' fan or whatever. You can chase me around the block with that record. Too much of everything: Pretentious, eccentric, self-absorbed. Boooring. But that's just me. 😉 Cheers. Gonna check out your Genesis video now.
“Love gun” is officially when I went awol from the Kiss army. That and I turned 16. But between 13&15 1/2 I was a loyal soldier. Wouldn’t trade the experience. It was a phenomenon!!!
yes I was kinda moving away in 1978 soon after love gun as well. i would have been about 14
I met Vinny Appice at a drum clinic many years ago. He signed some Dio albums and was nice to everyone. Good guy.
Have to take a listen to this album
if you like that classic genesis sound but more modern you will like this one
Murph, too bad you could not take us on your trip to the music store. I bet that is a fun time, seeing you walk in..then fast forward til you find something that you really want. Fast forward til the next album. then you walking out with the music you just bought. Then you post this vid. I bet you are excited at the music store. I have not gone to a music store in decades. Ever since vinyl made its comeback, I stopped. Got rid of my phonograph the same time I got rid of my VCR. Hitting the like to show support.
I like the guys their and the store but I never carry my phone
Absolutely agree, my IQ favourite as well , and most underrated probably
This is in my top 5 Kiss albums. KIiss Alive Love Gun Creatures of the night Revenge
that is a wide view of there discography
Thunder Seven was an album that surprised me at how good it was.
no surprises from triumph i always like there albums and expect to
You forgot to mention Triumph.
lol
My favorite 1982 album was the self-titled one by Asia.
Great additions to your collection some great albums in that bunch the first cd you showed I'm not familiar with will definitely check them out
Dude, check out Max Webster. Just sayin
yes i have a few of them been following them since about 1980
I was hoping you would have picked Krokus on the list. "Screaming in the Night....Fighting for my life...like a prog monster!" Change the lyrics to appease the prog monster to get that album in there.
