Raido, I for one LOVED your introduction to the channel. Literally my first exposure to your content - and I just subscribed before clicking play again 😂 So it was very lovely to hear you immediately validate my subscription with that lovely intro. It cast away all my doubt. Thank you! 🙏
I am from Dublin Ireland I am a Norse pagan lord Odin and lord Thor are my gods I would love to visit this lovely viking music Norse place
When I tuch it, I feel me protect, strong and invincible. For me is the gateway between us and gods.
As an atheist, at a certain point, I simply felt that perhaps I was missing the protection of something. That something, however, could never have been a cross, for me always a symbol of weakness and false religion. I am Italian, born in Rome, so in theory I should have adopted a Greco-Roman paganism, but nothing transmitted to me the very strong mystical and esoteric component of Norse paganism. This is why I wear Mijolnir.
Yes sir my northeren European pagans shall rise once more
I am a Norse pagan I have lord Thors hammer tattooed on my arm to prove my loyalty to the Norse gods and as a sign of my faith as a believer of the old gods
Warriors,.......particularly operators
How long did you leave it to brew
@@TCtravel91 until it stops bubbling
I just subscribed too
Wow very nice piece
As a 15yr Heathen it is a sacred symbol. It is a connection to the ancestors whome I call upon, it is a connection to my path which is a way of being. A reminder to all of the complexities it is to live and breathe being a Heathen and strive to do and be better. To be honest, blunt, mean well, fully embody Frith and challenge those around to do the same (even if they are baby steps for them). Mjolnir is the beater on the drum of my life, and he is the spirit who can bridge that gap of Earth & sky.
I like bathorys Viking metal albums
Using the power of opposition to win and to overcome and thrive.
how many grams was the mead yeast?
Russians have a connection with Scandinavians too. One of ancient Russian ruling dynasties (Rurik) literally bred from vikings.
I had a lot of setbacks in life and I wear the spear because it’s unbreakable as i see myself The magician is my card in the tarot deck and Odin also was a wizard among the gods
Odin was not just a fighter but also a seeker of wisdom and was able to predict the future. I see the Gungnir as a symbol of facing the battles in life and standing your ground, not letting people walk over you or talk you down. It’s also a symbol for searching knowledge in your spiritual journey and sharing knowledge with others.
That singing is breath taking and that music is so cool!
Great video ! We have attended the past 2 years, it’s quite special.
Its beautiful!
This would be so nice to visit! When is this? Is it the same date every year or like Medeltidsveckan in Visby (Gotland, Sweden) who has their annual event a fixed week (32nd)?
@@EvulOne42 first weekend of February each year.
@@therideinmidgard ohh... Dead in the middle of the winter here in Sweden. It would be great to skip the cold and put on my viking clothes again!
It may not be accurate but I go by the moon phases and the weather in my area we have long summers and long winters short springs and short autum so I start with the first full moon in October as the first day of winter then 3 full moons or 3 months basically Dec is when I celebrate yule mid December or end of December for 3 days I celebrate yule then in the first full moon of towards summer I celebrate sigurblot I don't know if that's correct or not.
What you celebrate is pretty close to the traditional Germanic calender. Yule according to the pre-christian calender seems to have been on the Full moon 🌝 f January, but many people celebrate Yule around Winter solstice because that is what they know. Sigurblot seems to have been on the full moon after the spring equinox, so dates vary from year to year. I also follow the seasons and cycles where I live, I have found that the old Norse calender does work in different regions.
@@therideinmidgard yes it does work it different regions especially if you follow the lunar way of it because there really isn't a set date as it changes and depends on your area when the full moon or new moon lands and it's really easier to understand but I got off the three mostly first for understanding because in ylingas saga chapter 8 I think in my snorri sturloson book says Odin's law is the 3 blots winter start Midwinter Then summerstart 1 for a good year 2 for a good crop 3 for victory then the additional 2 can be added that are alfblott etc Depending on how you celebrate I suppose some do all cross quarters but starting with the 3 first helped me understand better so like for me where I live yearly following the moon cycles victory blot for example starts for me third full moon after mid winter blot so 3 months after yule or moon cycles after and it lands in summer Then I was able to add the others or cross quarters later.
Im so glad i found your channel i love your energy and teachings
@@GothicRose-cb3ve thanks that means a lot. I've thought about deleting this channel because it's hard to find the time but when I get positive comments that like it helps to want to keep going.
@@therideinmidgard please don't delete it I'd love see other things you have to teach! 🌹
@@therideinmidgard take your time post when you can I got the sub on the bell I'll get your notifications!
Can you use a mason jar with lids that are for jarring?
@@GothicRose-cb3ve yeah if that's what you have then it should work fine. Only issue I can see is if it's being aged for a long period then the mead either needs to be pasteurized (heated) or in strong bottles/jars that will not break if the mead continues to ferment I n the bottle, coz bottle bombs 💣. Good luck!
Excelentísimo, me ayudó mucho a activar mis runas;)
For me, the spiritual and political emptiness of modernity led to the realization that the answer lies in folkishness, family, and traditional faith.
Thanks for this video. Of course, the seasons also were very important for our ancestors. The Sun and its conventional mytheme of "being dragged over the sky by animals or transported in a ship", is not natural or logical. There is NO WAY anybody can observe such a scenario and make such a mytheme. A wheel is a symbol of a "rotation around its center" and the ONLY possibility of observing this scenario in nature, is to study the Earth´s celestial axis an its motions. And THEN we get the natural explanation, namely the celestial center around which stars. star constellations, and the contours of the Milky Way are revolving. Then the natural mytheme is: A POLAR WHEEL seemingly pulled around by star constellations of Ursa Minor or Ursa Major. If speaking of a "ship", the crescent vaulting Milky Way figure very easily can be stylized and depicted as a ship "sailing" around this celestial Wheel. More illustrations here, search "native-science (dot) net/mythical.ship" Best Wishes
Really! Nice! I didnt know i had relatives there!
Great doco ..well done..see you next year
Thanks bro, see u in Norsehood!
Great video Raido! Thank you for putting the whole experience together so well 🙏 See you next year!
Thanks Heidi, appreciate that, see you there 🥂 🍻 🥁
Great video, very well put together, thanks. Cool looking festival, cool music, and seems like a cool community too. All within sight of the awesome Ruahine mountains! Must be hot there in February though. Hope you didn't drink too much mead! (Would love to play my songs there one year, if I could only get a band together to play them, haha).
Thanks! Often hot 🥵 n Feb, sometimes wet and windy like this year. When in Norsewood I often have a little too much to mead, Watcha gonna do? Do you play acoustic, be awesome to have some new acts coming through.
@@therideinmidgard Ah fair enough, if you're going to have too much mead that would be the time and place for it. Yeh, I record folk metal but only play acoustic live for now, as I don't have a band.
@@CeolskogThe Norsewood Viking festival are always looking for live acts, could be a go!
Skal Raido, great doco! See you next time❤
Thanks, see you there!
Skål to my Scandinavian ancestors who were the first settlers in Norsewood and Dannevirke..🛡⚔️🇳🇴🇩🇰
Godan was the main deity for my ancestors, I felt a visceral connection to him the first time I heard about him. It was like finding a long lost thing
I wish I could get some of that mead. I don't imagine it would ship well to Canada. That woman from Sonvanger is lovely, too. 🙂 I'm going to investigate their music further.
Awesome! Some links in the description. Cheers.
Some awesome festivals in north America, I'm envious of you guys and Europeans, pretty isolated down here in NZ.
@@therideinmidgard I love seeing how easily and peacefully you can do this in New Zealand! It's inspiring. Here, in my area, I think some people would go out of their way to object this kind of celebration. I won't elaborate, but it's nice to see how nicely this went off for you in 2024. 🙂
Whangarei doesn't have the annual viking festival anymore 😢❤
We'll always have Norsewood
How long will it stay so shiny white ?
I made the vid few years back and still white now. I did soak it in peroxide to whiten
I think, we need to remember, that 'the code of conduct' would probably very much depend on the type of divinity. You bow and prostrate for earthy realms (seems so), yet, definitely, stand up and 'rise' for others... etc. makes perfect sense. I remember precisely to be guided to 'stand tall' even next to a Christan icon. It is a very intimate process, but also hold deep ancestral codes, for what I am now pretty sure of... Thank you. Useful anthropological and ritual guidance
My ancestors sacred Mjolnir necklace is a piece of a distorted puzzle that is my salvation that saves me from a heart attack because my own were wrongfully accused of commiting the worst act of betrayal to all of our own that we don't want harm to come to. Along with my ancestors Mjolnir necklace are a destroyed sacred rune stone family tree remembrance monument created only for sacred chieftains with the family theonymn name Thor engraved on it that Harold Godwinson swore a sacred oath up on along with sacred oath rings that my own took to the grave that are worn to state they refuse to betray or dominate those they are family to and equal to. The old freedom fighting norse chieftains refused to be the bane of their own who they refused to dominate that they swore oaths and wore oath rings and created an empire that was divided to divert to preserve the freedom fighters nomad way that became lost to so called unity of the one ring of power that corrupted many minds with the one dominant race of the one true god that terrorised the middle east and Africa and Asia and Australia and America and any good pagans of all Eurasia who became enslaved by the religion that uses them as puppets against their own and many other races that were meant to be their allies.
the music sucks
And yet other people have commented that they like it.
@@therideinmidgard I guess I'm just old. But I like your channel.
@@Bladetechusa ok thanks I appreciate that.
Mjolnir. I only wear it if I'm preparing to venerate the gods. Iggdrasil. To me, it represents a connectedness of all things. I wear this mostly. I primarily connect with the Land Spirits. I talk to my local land spirits every morning before sunrise. I leave offerings that the animals in the backyard can consume.
Most often I drum, but also sing and dance. You can both sing and dance yourself in to a trance. I love it when the song " sings you " ❤ And I light candels and talk freely from the heart..... theres many ways, and you are never alone. You can feel alone, but that is a passing feeling and not the whole truth. You are The Belowed ❤❤❤
Man that festival looks cool. Hopefully I can go in 2025.
Where abouts are you based?
@@therideinmidgard Up in Hamilton.
@@Ceolskog might see you there in 2025. Its worth going for the whole weekend.
@@therideinmidgard Will it be held in February?
To me wearing our Mjolnir gives us independent rights and freedoms that we don't have to fight violently for and it also divides us from the dominant white race that scares far too many innocent multicultural allies of ours who are from many different races.
Im an atheist, the only reason i wear it is to show respect to my ancestors and heritage 🙂👍🏻
I am Spiritual not religious. I carry many different symbols with me out of wishing protection from them, and given respect for those older beliefs.
It has many meanings to me it's for protection fertility and it reminds me my ancestors are always with me it reminds me of my inner strength the connection I feel to the old ways is definitely more prevalent while I wear it
