Hiking in the Andes: Salkantay Trek to Macchu Picchu
Переглядів 2,1 тис.6 років тому
It seemed illogical to visit Peru, for my Dad's birthday, and not visit the world-renowned wonder that is Macchu Picchu. But no simple expedition would be enough for the Wilkinson's, embarking upon a five day five night hike through the Andes on the Salkantay trek. Along with some other determined, tenacious and eventually stinky explorers, we took to the mountains, struggled our way uphills an...

£20 is more than enough for a single person if you know how to shop and how to cook!

Aldi/Lidl is a saviour. Even on a fairly decent wage I do not want to be spending £40 on two bags of shopping. In 2022 I bought two bags of fruit, veg and a few essentials for just over £20 and off buying nuts as a treat to roast at home the price is bumped up to £30. Regardless, Tesco & Sainsburys et al are quite a bit more expensive, even for the essentials.

Living in that country is very expensive, even having a good job, I consider it good to have control of the things you buy, I currently use an app where I save what I buy so I try to avoid unnecessary purchases, this is the app used in case if you want to try it play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sherman.MTList

Im a student at uni with a baby. My sis and people I know call me stingy. She wants to throw her money and buy things constantly. My sons pamper is £11 n last 2 weeks, his sma formula milk is £15 per tin just this alone £52, so the rest of the household shopping including food cost me £350pm. My bloody bills n rent cost me 1535 including my support for the orphans £1885 with babys n my supplements its £2000pm!

Sooo crazy that in today’s world trying to eat cheap will have your food full of butter and milk and meat?? a long time ago only the rich could afford eating those on daily basis and now it’s almost the opposite

This is so strange and interesting. Students should have a better quality life in the UK as one idea would come cross your mind first is that China is a poor country. You see I could barely hear my colleagues struggling with food like that even dating going back to 8 years ago in China. The food in the canteen is always various, nutritious and very affordable. My accommodation was £150 per semester though shared, a very standard breakfast-lunch-super normally costs about £1~2 per day. We eat out a lot as copious of restaurants around the campus for students. I did my masters in Sheffield. 90% of the time I had to cook for myself for saving money. Occasionally eating out with friends. Food was really expensive which is ridiculous! I definitely won’t study in London.

If you are a poor and you are Indian.. you will get 35KG rice per month on price of 1Rs. Per Kg. Salt= .25 Paisa(1/4 INR) per Kg Health Insurance of 1.5 Lakh from central govt and 30000 from State govt If you are pregnant woman or your child is less than 5 years old you and he will get plenty of. healthy food every month and free medical checkup and multivitamins. but still so many are suffering from hunger is just bcz of society.. many many wealthy family peron has made fake certificate to get these benifints and this causes unavailability of food to the people whe are really suffering from poverty .

You probably know this but milk isn't necessary to make porridge, just cook with water and a little salt and a milky substance will form, that's how 'oat milk' that you get in shops is made. This is the traditional Scots way to make it.
