I never thought I would see the day when the COG would turn worldly woke and lower their worship styles to suit the world, complete with casual dress and sneakers on Sunday as if going to a backyard BBQ. Modern progressing Christian music complete with drums and tambourines. Now that leaders like Robert Reardon have passed, the young progressive liberals have taken over. Sad to see that after having been raised in the COG since birth. I feel compelled to go to the Nazarene's.

In my opinion, it is a shame that the leadership in Anderson has gone progressive and encourages a contemporary worship style over the traditional to attract younger converts. I thought the church was to change the world, not the world change the church. This was a big mistake and may cause a split in the church. I was born and raised in the COG, and never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that the COG would go Woke along with most worldly companies like Black Rock and Microsoft. You cannot serve God and Mammon, that was a theme at one camp meeting back in the 1950s and still true today.

What a blessing to listen to the old, familiar songs of my youth. I'm 79 now and was born and raised in the COG in Jackson, Michigan, but I now live in the Philippines and there is no COG on the tiny island I live on. I see some of the people I have met before. Bill Gaither is there, whom I met back in the 1960s. I met Doug Oldhams father Dale back in the 1950s there at Anderson University (college then) he was the pastor at Park Place. Doug Oldham has been a favorite of mine for years, such a magnificent voice. I miss the COG family.

My great uncle was a Church of God pastor, and my dad was raised CoG Indiana.

When you read the books of the New Testament you have probably asked yourself many times: "Why is it that for 2000 years we have not seen the miracles that accompanied the Church of Christ in the first century as the New Testament describes them? Why is it that so-called preachers of Christ have to prove that Jesus really existed, while atheists have the audacity to deny the historicity or divine origin of Christ? Maybe because the Church of Christ ceased to exist after the first century. There is no Church as it is described in the books of the New Testament, but there are Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and other Christian sects, claiming to be the Church, but not having that one thing that distinguishes the divine from the human and is characteristic only for the Church of Christ - the backing of the word with signs, that is, miracles (Mk 16:15-20). That is why part of the researchers doubt the historicity of Christ, and part of them do not mind to declare Him a real person, but an ordinary philosopher, a teacher. But even if Jesus was an ordinary philosopher, His disciples would have been ordinary followers of Jesus. And they would not have dared to write about the miracles that not only Jesus but also His disciples could perform. If in our time there were a Church as described by the authors of the New Testament books, where miracles are performed - healing the sick, prophesying, raising the dead - no one would doubt the historicity of Christ. Then all over the world there would be the same disputes as in the first century - Jesus is the Son of God or a false prophet who seduces the world with miracles. Find on youtube the audio message *"The Mystery of the Church of Christ"* . It reveals the prophecy of the disappearance and reappearance of the Church of Christ before the End of the World, giving hope to all who are sincerely seeking God and who are not lazy to think freely.

I miss Doug and the sisters. I grew up listening to them on records, cassettes and of course campmeeting.

I had never seen this, and enjoyed hearing Dr. Reardon's commentary. (I attended AU 1975-79). I was quite moved with his recollection of Charles Naylor. Certainly, "I am the Lord's, I know," is one of my favorite hymns. I left the Church of God long ago, but Naylor's notion of singing our theology rings true for me. I certainly relate to the secret of the singing heart.

What a blessing this video is! So many of these musicians I have met and recognize. I love the Church of God and it’s music!

Thankyou for posting this I grew up in the Church of God and love these dear hyms First Church of God Mishawaka Ind. I attended a Ind Baptist Church in Pinellas Park Fla we sometimes sing a few of these hyms.

We dont use hymnals anymore. I think the founder Daniel Warner would be vary disappointed. Our church even though it claims to be non denominational sings the modern day song's of Hillsong, Bethel Church, Jesus Culture, and Elevation worship churches. All of these churches have deeply flawed theology and doctrine. A crying shame that The Church of God is not setting an example for the rest of the denominational churches.

I really got to get this documentary to my Dad. He went to Anderson's school of theology, then on to Duke University in the doctoral program. My Dad's pastorate many a Church of God and help found one in Kingsport Tennessee. Thank you so much for this posting. He's now 92 years young and still writes and translates from the old Greek testament. After getting his PHD from Duke he took our family down to Houston Texas where he taught at Gulf Coast Bible College. I can't wait to see and hear his reaction to this!!!!!!!Thanks again and again.........

When I first came into the Church of God in 1975 (at South Agnew Church of God in Oklahoma City) and heard these wonderful hymns and songs, sung with hearts full of God's love, I knew I was home. I'm so thankful to have "grown up in the Lord" in the Church of God in the last quarter of the 20th century. And though I miss those days, I look forward to the new "Days of Jubilee" ahead, for the evening light of the Church of God still dawning today. Praise God!

Wonderful memories of The First Church of God. Love the singing and seeing people from long ago. Our yearly trips to Anderson Camp meeting were wonderful.

My family is 4-6th generation COG. My grandfather helped save a mile of pennies to build the church building there, he was a child. and was latdd baptized in a creek nearby. Our family and congregation still hold the traditional hymns and ds warner/ doctrine today in our coomunity in New Castle. But have been independant of the headquarters for many years now. My maiden name is Nipp. The history is fascinating as i have grown up with COG heritage. I do love it and am teaching my grandchildren, as my grandparents taught me.

I am thankful for those who worked to provide the Gospel. I was raised in the Church for which I am so grateful!
