    Ok, i have a tip: please use fewer buzz words and explain your points in more casual speak-- and give yourself(and the audience) time to breathe :D. I have listened to 11 minutes of your video and most of it was lost on me because of a wall of words that mean mostly nothing to me. Also, give more examples. You dont have to give a 5 minute detour to paint a picture, but relating arguments to examples or hypotheticals makes it easier for a viewer to connect to your point and understand it. And please, give more examples of "demogauges"(did I write that right?) Than just Trump. I have no idea what that word means but I assume its negative and i'm really not in the mood for another "durr Trump bad durr" post. I understand if you think that it might take away from your points, but if you wabt conservatives to view this video then I do recommend making the topic more palatable. The Right doesnt like being bashed constantly, y'know? Idk if this is a school project or something you wanna start doing as a hobby or job, but i hope that these tips help.

      Thanks so much for the feedback! You're absolutely right-I should have spent more time breaking down the concept on its own and giving relatable examples to make it easier to connect with. I'll also work on pacing and adding pauses for reflection without dragging things out too much. I get that focusing heavily on Trump can be off-putting, and I appreciate the reminder to diversify examples. I just leaned into that because it was trending at the time, but I'll keep your advice in mind for future videos. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts!

    "Is Democracy doomed" well considering he turned down some congress members that proposed a amendment to the constitution to allow him to run a 3rd term, id say were fine for now. Also, quick edit here, the U.S. isn't a democracy, its a constitutional republic, so technically you are right, the liberal party that was pushing for a democracy is no longer in majority power, so yes I guess it is dead on a technicality, but the U.S. has never, nor ever will be a democracy.

    • @PixelForThought
      @PixelForThought 17 годин тому

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts! You’re right that the U.S. is a constitutional republic, not a direct democracy. The distinction is important, especially when talking about the limits on power and the checks and balances that exist within the system. As for the amendment proposal, it’s a good point that turning it down shows a healthy respect for constitutional limits. That said, the broader question of democracy-or the potential flaws in any system of governance-is still worth exploring, especially when considering how power is exercised and how divisions in society can weaken any form of government.

      Both the Vox Populi and Comstock resort to extreme measures, pushing the player to examine where they stand. Whether from one side or the other, Aristotle argued that democracy is doomed to fail because of the division and instability created by such extremes. The game effectively illustrates this, highlighting how deep societal rifts can ultimately weaken a democracy.

    I love so many things they improved on in season two. For one, voting to end the games is an illusion of choice anyway. Yes, you could get out but as we saw in season one, they only chose people that are so severely in debt and messed up by loan sharks that they would come crawling back. Even to the point that they research what happened to the players that didn't return. Then there's also the lottery part. With each game you either go through a near death experience or do die. That's a higher adrenaline kick than much else. It serves as a drug all on its own. The relief of surviving a game is massive. And before you get to settle in to actually think about what happened, they dangle the money in your face. And here comes a great detail I love they added. After all that stress you look at the money and honestly can't help but think that's it? This is all I get? I almost died! And the thing is, only winners get to vote. If you lost you died. So after every game you feel more entitled to a bigger sum because you are a winner. Then to add to that they get less and less food, the constant stress and death drives you insane and in the games relationships or rivalries develop as well. And lastly, the greatest addition of them all, X & O are visually separated now too. It makes it easy to form a hive, two separate groups that grow more and more disdain for the other. It doesn't matter who you are, just your choice and you already belong. It's so great I genuinely couldn't have imagined that they would improve so much!

    • @PixelForThought
      @PixelForThought День тому

      @@ot7biasedmashups I completely agree-season two really leveled up the psychological depth and storytelling. The illusion of choice is such a chilling concept because it highlights how thoroughly the system manipulates players, not just physically but mentally. The research on those who didn't return was such a sinister yet believable move. It shows that the game isn’t just about survival-it’s about total control. The adrenaline rush aspect was fascinating too. You're right: surviving each game becomes its own drug, blinding players to just how little the prize money is worth in comparison to the trauma they endure. The entitlement after every win makes perfect sense-it's survival arrogance at its finest. And the separation of X and O players visually and socially drives home how quickly division and tribalism form when the stakes are high. Season two managed to capture the darker aspects of human nature even better than the first. I agree, they indeed truly outdid themselves this time!

    The only problem I have with Squid Game season 2 is making Gi-Hun way dumber than he should have been. It’s fine that he failed the rebellion. What isn’t fine for me, however, is the fact that he trusted 001 in the first place, knowing that the last 001 is evil and the current 001 keeps showing red flag behaviors. And it’s so obvious that the plot wants Gi-Hun to lose by preventing Jung-Bae from telling Gi-Hun the truth about 001 killing a guy when he had a chance. One thing I like about squid game is the diminishing return vs the sunk cost fallacy from the games. Many contestants justify the continuing of the games by saying “we’ve already got this far” but as you play more, you get less money in total because less people die per game. Additionally the game forces you to kill people to make money which they question in s2. You can’t win the squid games. A very thorough and enjoyable analysis and a great use of scenes from the show! There were a couple of inaccuracies in player backgrounds that I found jarring. You're correct that Oh Il Nam's failing health influenced his decision to join the game. However, there was no indication that Oh Il Nam suffered any economic losses beforehand. I believe he honestly wanted to experience again the joy of playing childhood games. And In ho had joined the game as a player in order to save his wife. Winning the money came too late, mirroring Gi hun's experience. However, you were absolutely correct that what In ho experienced and witnessed during his game was an important factor in his becoming The Front Man.

      Looking back, I think you're right. While this is the backstory Oh Il-nam gives to Gi-hun, some parts of it might be fabricated or exaggerated. That said, another possibility I like to consider is that his business was struggling, and fueled by greed or the desperation to maintain his wealth, he turned to illegal means-creating the games-as a way to secure his fortune. This adds a darker layer to his character, suggesting that even someone as wealthy as him could be driven by the same desperation and moral decay that the players experience.

If you see the flaws of squid games season two it makes sense that the writing was rushed. Having two characters that are cowards and was too afraid to help their partners was redundant. Having characters kill in the first red light green light game and not know about the idea that death brings in more prize money was stupid because the viewers know this but the contestants don’t and he was allowed to don drugs in the games openly. It just felt like the writing had too many flaws in it and was Americanized

      I get where you're coming from, and I think some of your points about Season 2 are valid. It’s true that the creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, faced a lot of challenges getting Squid Game off the ground initially, and there’s no doubt the show’s massive success has opened up opportunities for him to capitalize on its popularity. That said, I don’t think the flaws in Season 2 necessarily mean it was rushed or purely a cash grab. The drug use aspect might feel out of place at first, but it could also be seen as a deeper commentary on how the games themselves and the promise of money give the players an addicting rush. In this way, the drug use could symbolize how the system preys on their vulnerabilities, turning them into addicts not just to substances, but to the twisted promise of wealth.

    What makes the voting especially heartwrenching is that initially, you have characters that still vote to continue even after the second round like Gi-hun's friend and Hyun-ju even after their best friends plead and beg them not to. What makes Young-mi's death so tragic is that, like many of the X players, she wanted to go home from the very start and was pleading, sobbing even for them to vote X so they could get out with their lives. Of course, our main characters eventually realize the cost of this mistake, but by this point, it's far too late, and too many of the wrong people have seized a hive-minded type of power. The need for money led everyone on the O side to basically hold the X players hostage and force them to play a game they didn't want to play anymore. Every time the game is voted to continue, it's a continuous death sentence for people who keep trying to get out of this horrible place. The reason the O players feel like they gradually lose more of their humanity is that they kept consistently prioritizing their need for money over the very lives of people begging them to stop so they could escape while still in debt, alive, and more likely to be able to pay it off. The constant voting in the second season shows the futility of being held hostage by a 'democratic vote' that forces you at gunpoint to follow rules that don't serve you and get you killed because more foolish, desperate, or hateful people willed it to do so. And we all know how foolish and hateful groups of people can be.

    Dae-Ho screamed stolen valor to me, though my current theory is that he was rejected for some reason, either before or during boot camp. He says his dad made him and he does seem really eager about the whole thing, but doesnt seem to really know about shooting a gun. He has to be told not to fire blindly which feels more like he isnt fully trained in using it more than ptsd. Even if he was terrified, I feel like a trained marine would know to not waste the bullets with such poor attempts, even if he was hiding the trauma. Which makes me think he had never gotten far enough to know the best way to fire the gun in that situation. Maybe he was kicked out and brought shame to himself and his father, leading him down the path that made him a candidate for the Squid Game. He has the tattoo because he wants to be seen that way and pretend it all happened like it was supposed to. He wants to help and to a degree he can, but this really seemed like the first time he had ever been in a firefight and he realized it was too much for him.

    • @PixelForThought
      @PixelForThought 9 днів тому

      @@Wandervenn That’s a solid theory, and it would definitely explain a lot about Dae-Ho’s behavior. The eagerness he shows could be more about proving himself to others-or even to himself-because of that sense of shame. The tattoo becomes almost like a mask, letting him hold onto this image of who he wanted to be, even if he didn’t actually get there. The way he handled the gun really does feel like someone who lacks full training. A real marine, even in a panicked state, would likely have that muscle memory to fall back on. Instead, his actions feel more desperate, like he’s compensating for what he doesn’t know. It’s a tragic thought that his attempt to prove himself might’ve been what landed him in the Squid Game in the first place.

    • @Wandervenn
      @Wandervenn 9 днів тому

      @@PixelForThought Actually, and maybe this works in favor of my theory, but he reminds me a lot of Kodai Tatta from Alice in Borderlands- The mechanic who befriends Arisu. Young, eager, wants to be depended on and tries to push down the shame of past mistakes that led him to be put in a desperate position, but when finally confronted with the reality of messing up again he hits rock bottom hard and fast as he regresses back into that fear of failure. I think Dae-Ho has to have a heroic moment coming up(especially when confronted with the fact that Jung-bae, someone he looked up to as a marine, is dead), and that would also fall in line with the kind of character arc Tatto had. But yes, he lacks any muscle memory for sure. Not that every trauma comes out the same, but I think comparing other characters with ptsd like Gi-Hun can give us an idea of how the writers handle those kinds of mental states. I think there have definitely been hints that his story is fishy (personally, I was doubtful from the start when he was quick to kinda brag about being a marine) but not so much that he's suffering from trauma. If it were combat based, then we dont see an extreme reaction at any time during the show until they rebel. Gunfire has been around him like crazy, but he handles it just as well as everyone else- if not better.

    • @PixelForThought
      @PixelForThought 9 днів тому

      @Wandervenn I totally agree with you, and that’s a great comparison with Kodai Tatta from Alice in Borderland! Their arcs really do have a similar vibe-young, eager, trying to overcome their past mistakes, but crumbling when faced with the weight of failure again. I’m with you on Dae-Ho having a heroic moment coming up, especially after Jung-bae’s death. That kind of redemption arc would fit perfectly with what we’ve seen from characters like him. Now you’ve got me thinking-I’m definitely going to have to do an Alice in Borderland video next!

If you don't want to, haven't got the time a synopsis of the salient points are we are multiple generations from the technology that will allow us to live long term anywhere else apart from the Earth and even when/if we manage to achieve that technology the fact that air will be a produced commodity to be rationed, along with all the other necessities for life such as food and water is very likely to lead to an exploited section of the human race to be used as effectively slave labour.

    One more game no more no less. One more game, one more game, one more game. This really put it into perspective view of how greed, gambler's fallacy and gambling culture (crypto currency, sports betting and debt culture) has ruined humanity's care for each other. It's not just greed some people really have no means of getting money to pay off predatory loan sharks that want live organs from people, same loansharks and gangsters have lost humanity by being so cruel. Money in this season really brought the worst in people. I guess the same would have happened in the first season. Gi Hun can't let go of his hatred for the games played because he really doesn't believe he was lucky to win, which in honesty luck saved Gi Hun and the people around him. However at the very least Gi Hun sees the games as what they really are predators that prey on desperate people, as much as they are people that are willing to play the games it would be a lie to say that they aren't harming people for the sick enjoyment of the rich. Johnny Silverhand in a video game says alot about this. Capitalism has gone out of control cause if people are really desperate they are willing to play these games even if they are guaranteed to leave with something they want more even if more means people will died. Some people argue that Gi Hun could have bought them all off but considering that many of them would gamble, crypto gamble and take out loans they would likely go back to the games. Another thing is what happened to the other winners of the games, Gi Hun is overcome with survivors guilt and hatred but what about the other winners that played have they reacted like Gi Hun or like the Frontman

    • @PixelForThought
      @PixelForThought 9 днів тому

      @asavelakuse6865 That's a really deep perspective. The games truly highlight how predatory systems like gambling, loan sharks, and debt culture prey on desperate people. It's not just about greed, but how desperation warps people's decisions and humanity. Gi-hun's survivor's guilt and hatred for the games really emphasize this-he sees them for what they are: a cruel tool of the rich to exploit the poor. It’s such a tragic commentary on how capitalism and desperation push people into inhumane or bad choices. Like the rationalization of turning to crime to support your family, seeking opportunities that seem impossible to find anywhere else. I also wonder what happened to the other players. Maybe they also were also "invited" to come work for the games. Similar to the Frontman, they must have been offered something so enticing, like power or wealth, to stay and work for the games. Other winners may have also spoken out against the games and been silenced.
