Are those speakers by AC?

Multi driver speakers are just inherently slightly out of phase. Once you live with Cube Audio Nenuphar, there’s just no going back.

40A is a real step up from the passive. The 40A is somuch better. I urge you to go in that direction instead of paying more than doudle for a passive 50.

That room is way too "live" assume youre going to treat it?

How big is your room in total in sqm? Any treatment/furniture on/near the opposite wall? I'm dealing with the very same challenge currently and I did come to the conclusion that I do need professional help (yes, for room treatment, too) before spending any more cash on gear (or cable risers :-) ). But I do like those speaker quite a lot and they are on my top 5 list for a new system in 2025. Cheers

Yes the system is very good plenty of power and very well balanced. The only issue I hear is reflection especially from hard flooring. I think you will benefit in dampening down the Presentation.

La différence entre les 40 et les 50 ne se résume pas uniquement à plus de basses. La taille des enceintes doivent correspondre à la surface de la pièce. Les enceintes Atc sont sensible au placement pour délivrer leur plein potentiel. La 40 est close est ne fera pas un grave rond et traînant comme certaines Bass reflex.

So mine I bought passive then ripped out the crossover and made them active now outside in a box..So two large Rhels ref and two Max super tweeters and 6 amps..Better than the 100A's stock.. The final thing I want to do is..Actually I'll not tell you when I do it photos lot's of photos and a video

The integration of bass, mid & treble very nice. SCM40 do lovely bass or is the help of two subs?

Definitely 2 Subs with Full Adjustability and make sure they are Fast and Tight enough to keep up! Let the 40's Shine and make the Subs disappear!💯

for a 20w set tube amp even that cerat is one serious one, i think the the scm40 would be the better choice to drive properly, bigger woofers from about 10-12 of this calibre often need more real world power, but sure also depends on the impedance curve of the speakers, but from own experience its always easy to make a big speaker sound nice in midrange & top but if you dont really have the right control in the bass the midrange & top will also be supressed & compromise openness,but that said most important isnt just watt or high damping factor, its more the current & amp in the power supply,& as i said the aries cerat looks serious so it may work, if you had the chance i would tried the aries cerat protos on the scm50 to see if it have enough headroom for them :-) but if not it would be better with the sub solution & if you go that way i would trust most the subs atc made as they obviously should match their speakers :-) Sincerely Ivan

For how well made the ATC drivers are, I am always surpised how polite/lifeless they sound. Maybe they need high current?

They say the SCM 50's are 15 % better than the 40's

Comparted with 40 are a bit more extended in the deep bass and also in the high end. Extetically I love the ATC40 no dubt. Some people replace the tweeter of ATC40 with something more open and bright, but in my experience you can also try with cable silver to do something similar. The ATC 40 it's a very solidy loudspeaker for the price point... the price point onf ATC50 its more than double and here you can maybe find other product... Did you try some TAD?
