I love this song period. The beauty of DJ's music is that, while his recordings aren't for everyone, they lend themselves really well to being covered or even re-arranged by other musicians. There is no denying that Daniel is one of the most emotionally talented songwriters of our time, but that also means that to do a cover as well as this or Wilco's version, the performing artist has to have a serious emotional understanding of the song.

Matt Good is the single most under rated artist. I love this song. such talent. Thanks Matt~

i think that anyone who only wants to hear music in one incarnation is missing the point. because it doesn't have to be the same from artist to artist, and you dont have to like it. but other people's taste in music and interpretation doesn't make them tools. i like johnston's personally. im glad its getting exposed through matt good as well. but i think it's you who has missed the point. i dont normally argue on youtube videos but i had to put it out there.

Its a ok cover. But It just seems a little anodyne. Even though its a very easy song to play its hard to cover because you know Daniel Johnson means every word when he sings.
