A few words about REMAKE: THEY FUCKED UP ALMOST EVERYTHING INCLUDING James' psychosis/amnesia, his statements, dialogues between other characters, cutscenes changed for the worse, disgusting I LOOKED AT ANGELA WHO NOW LOOKS LIKE A TYPICAL MCDONALD'S REPRESENTATIVE, ANGELA LOOKS TRAGIC AND IT COULD NOT BE MORE UGLY. EDDY looks like Kononowicz(Poland patostreamer). Laura and her behavior are TOTAL FAILURE AND FIRST-CLASS SHIT. EVERYTHING CHANGED FOR THE WORSE. The surrealistic, extremely depressing and downright dirty atmosphere of SH2 has completely disappeared in the remake. I respect how hard they tried to recreate what SH2 was, but even today, comparing it to the original, you can see how magical a title SH2 from 2001 was and still is. Tragic voice acting and I doubt it was the fault of the actors themselves but rather the direction of the dubbing itself, a complete lack of expression, expression and this says a lot compared to the original. Complete fuck-up of the atmosphere, lack of symbolism, layers that can be interpreted and constituted a solid psychological horror, everything has been either crudely laid out as if on the palm of your hand or made shallow. In general, it's like comparing a horror classic like The Exorcist to modern horrors like The Conjuring. The game is without what made it unique. The terrain and location graphics themselves are fine, but THE FILM ANGLES AND FRAMING AND MONTAGE ARE A FIRST-CLASS SHIT and total bungling, the ORIGINAL has a hell of a good "camera and angles" and you watch it all with "beautiful" anxiety (while the remake is a horror by God's grace and to the bone), and in terms of character facial expression animation.. a tragedy. The game is definitely not worth the 300 PLN, I'D PREFER TO WASTE IT ON FOOD AND WATER THAN ON THIS POLISH SHIT, CREATED BY IDIOTS FOR IDIOTS. MARIA WAS IMPLIEDLY SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE A MILLION DOLLARS AND BE A 100% SEXUAL OBJECT (ANYONE WHO PLAYED AND HAS A BRAIN KNOWS WHY). MARIA IN THE REMAKE HAS A FACE LIKE MAMED KHALIDOW, NOT LIKE A SEXY CHICK THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO "ZIP UP" AT EVERY STEP. NEW PLAYERS, MORONS, AND THE NEW GENERATION OF ZOOMERS, I.E. IDIOTS FROM TIK TOK, WILL NOT UNDERSTAND THIS BECAUSE IT IS EATEN UP AND MANIPULATED BY TODAY'S IDEOLOGY OF LEFTISTS AND ACTIVISTS, similarly new players, for them Maria will be cool, because they have no idea what exactly she is supposed to look like or what is supposed to arouse in the head of every player, especially James. Maria looks like a typical fitness woman according to today's FUCKED CANONS "BEAUTIFUL" AMONG WOMEN, or SUCH A FUCKED UP GAL GADOT ON STEROIDS (BY THE WAY SHE'S AN UGLY WOMAN AND MARIA HAS A FACE MADE TO SUIT HER). But which moron from TikTok will understand that? NONE. Angela on the release trailer looks like that guy from the meme woken up in the middle of the night. Generally, everyone looks caricatural (Eddie probably the most) and only James keeps up the level. The voice acting sounds like the actors aren't acting but are tipsy. They mumble their lines and eat the ends of their sentences like they're talking while holding their breath. I guess they were counting on it coming out as "sadness". The dreamlike, surreal atmosphere has disappeared and WILL NEVER RETURN IN ANY BULLSHITTY REMAKING OF THE GAME, because the creators themselves cannot understand what was the main driving force of this series. Only the world looks quite nice (but not too much so as not to be able to copy the town, after so many parts of games, fanfics, movies, comics, etc.). Animations, facial expressions, lighting design in the cuscenes are shit. The REMAKE is total SHIT, KEY DIALOGUES ARE CUT, CUT OFF, SYMBOLIC IS CHANGED, DISTORTED, EXAMINED AND SHOWN IN A SLOPPY WAY FOR THE MORONS AND IDIOTS OF TODAY'S SOCIETY, THE MORONS FROM TIKTOK. Many lines of dialogue are GUANO OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY AND CRAP FOR THE MASSES SO THAT THEY DON'T GET LOST SOMETIMES. A censored, made-for-fun remake for 300 PLN, and the consumers in the comments defend this crap like independence. Apart from the engine technology, everything is wrong, the characters are caricatures, voice acting like on vodka, facial expressions and animations like from source film maker. Sorry for my english. From what I heard the 2 Pyramid heads represent 2 people that James has killed Eddie and Mary

The hallway with the recording that plays at 1:10:20, the length of the recording lines up with the exact amount of time it takes to walk the hallway with the Great Sword (Pyramid head's weapon) equipped. One of the most mindblowing parts of the game to me, and I think it strongly hints at the lore of Pyramid Head.

What James does at the beginning of the game is looking to the mirror in order to recognize himself because he has a Depersonalization Disorder. He's confirming that he isn't dreaming. Harry Mason does something similar in Otherworld's Antique Shop but it can't be call Depersonalization in his case as he ask himself If everything he's living on Silent Hill is just a Dying Dream after seeing the demons that live in Silent Hill,he doesn't denial anything of what he has live but ask if it's real or not. James does denial what he has done when he's asking himself that at the mirror.

The OG SH2 is the best English voice acting of any game, HD PS2/PS3 redone acting showed just how special the actors were in 2000/2001. I usually turn on Japanese dubs on Japanese games if offered such as Legend Of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom or Resident Evil⁴ REmake. The original PS Metal Gear Solid is great both English & Japanese dubs. However, SH2 is both the best and only in English and Japanese Subtitled in the Japanese version. There is a 0 equal to quality of acting in OG SH2.

I can really relate about going back to Silent Hill 2, when I don't feel well ! It is this specific melancholic magnetism that calls me again and again. I remember that I get interested in the game in High School, because of the music and I read about it a lot for years, before I actually played. It was quite darker from what I thought it would be, but still perfectly reflects 'the bad time', when I don't feel well.

The reason why Silent Hill 2 it became a classic is because eventually people began to see how unique, eerie, melancholic and authentic the game's atmosphere it really is, and took the time to enjoy its deeply thoughtful narrative and symbolism. To this day it’s by far one of, if not the most mature examination of grief, sexual trauma, suicide, and morality all combined. It’s an intelligent game that does not hold anyone’s hand and comes at the player with utmost confidence in itself. It’s fantastic stuff. The rest of the original 4 are great in their own right and have their own well written stories, but they don’t hold the same emotional weight to them. I think SH2’s maturity by comparison is something that a lot of people are drawn to. ☯️

Great analysis, although my only criticism is that at some parts in the video the game audio is louder than your own voice. It makes it really hard to understand what you said.

There is a very early reference to Maria. Iin the public bathroom where you start the game, on the wall just before you exit the bathroom there two posters with Maria's face on them with Heaven's Night written above. You can see it at 3:09.

You know what the thing is about being lost and broken inside is the fact that no one can see my broken heart like I feel almost invisible and it becomes draining like you said the effort every day just to hold up when no one really knows because they can't see your emotional state not like a cut or a physical wound. Silent Hill 2 was the first game I got on PS2. I remember me and my family being blown away by how good it looked compared to PS1. I was only a kid so that's the level I saw it on. Then I kept playing it as I got older as a teen. Then I respected the peculiar vibes and emotions the game brought. Then as I aged further into adulthood, I dived deep into the themes and symbolism and really respected the game (and Silent Hill 1 and 3) as works of art.

Silent hill helped me from kms as I decided to play it when I was at the lowest I had been mainly out of pear boredom of everything and felt connected to the characters as it helped me realize that I had attached my self to something that was hurting me and I needed to move on. Not getting to personal with it but silent hill saved me and I’m grateful

I'm so worried about the remake missing the mark guys... i doubt it can be done right. Especially with Konami involved... and although I like Bloober Team, they are not ready for something like SH2 imo
