I can quite easily believe this man would abandon an ill Jack Kerouac in a foreign country, to marry his third wife after divorcing his second, only to immediately leave the third for the second.

As a truck driver, I used to listen to this guy every time I had to go into the Bay Area. He was the one thing I liked about going there. He was funny as hell and I miss him.
