Operation Christmas Child Shoebox suggestions and ideas for a 2-4 year old girl. What does a packed box look like? How you can make the most of packing your shoebox.
As someone who have used home made cloth pads I can say that a button will work fine. I hope some of these girls start making their own after getting them sent to them as well.
Maybe add a couple more toys. A jump rope, chalk, doll would be nice and it looks like you have room. I have been told never to ship air.
I found fishing kits at Amazon and sewing kits at Temu. The fishing kits were less than $3 and the sewing kits were $3.50. I pack these in the 10 to 14 boys and girls. I always include soap ,wash cloths, toothbrushes, lip balm, notebooks, pencils, crayons, glue sticks, erases, sharpener, pencil pack, ink pens, ruler, fluffy, art items, toys ,games ,balls.
That's awesome! Sounds like a full box! The children that receive them are all smiles I'm sure!
Just a note from someone who has worked at the packing center. Those cheap plastic boxes break apart quickly. It is better to use the cardboard boxes. No child wants a broken plastic box as a gift. Nor do we at the packing center, want the extra work, of taping together the shattered corners and shredded lids. Thanks.
What size box are you using? Where did you buy it.
These are 12 quart boxes, Sterilite brand from Walmart. These were sold 4 together. I think they were around 11 dollars if I remember right. 😊
An amazing box!❤
Questioning the sharp pencil, scissors and notebook paper for 2-4 year old.
What a lovely Shoebox for a 2-4 year old girl! I love that it is packed so full, with lots of treasures. Some little girl is going to be so blessed to receive your box. The print-out saying that everything complies with the rules sounds like a nice idea, but I'm afraid it's a waste of your time and paper. Regardless of what a note in a box says, every Shoebox will still be inspected. Some volunteer inspectors have even mentioned it's just one more step they have to do- tossing the paper in the garbage. You are so right when you say that shopping happens year 'round. Usually I wait until we are on our way home from the Central Drop-Off Center, but this year I was actually shopping and packing for next year the day before! This allows me to find bargains and to fill more boxes and with nicer items than I could usually afford. Thank you for packing Shoeboxes, and thank you for sharing what you've packed! God bless!
What size box are you using? It looks huge.
It's a 12 quart box. Yes, it is larger. Going to try to get back to standard size this year.
I think it was a great idea to add the clothespins and clothesline. She can use it for so many things! What a thoughtful box! God bless this lovely girl!
Ivory soap floats so if they bath in a river it doesn't sink!
I’m going to start doing shoe boxes next year (missed the drop off date for this year) but going to start picking up stuff in January and will continue getting new things all year round ready for drop off day ❤
That will make it easier, starting early. And it will be fun!
Where do u buy your boxes?
Please review this orginazation. They don't get the items. They are not a good orginazation nor is Franklin Graham. There are many videos on here telling the truth.
The stuffed horse it’s so cute. The book bag is a perfect addition to this box. Your boxes are delightful.
Thank you very much. Thankful to be able to pack a few boxes😊
I've just found your channel. I enjoy hearing your stories of your past. So sweet. Great box indeed! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Fantastic that you found all of the book bags at a great price. Your crocheted soap bags are well done. I like that you are a thoughtful packer. The recipients of your boxes will love them.
Thank you!
Super awesome box :) :) :)
Thanks!
Super awesome box :) :) ⚽
Thie box look awesome :) :) :)
Additionally, as someone who has lived in a developing country for 2 years, these items are culturally insensitive at best. These children dont have toys and dont know what to do with them. This just makes me roll my eyes. If you truly want to make a difference, work with the Peace Corps in West Africa and send a young girl to school for ONE YEAR. It is probably the same price as all of this stuff. The PC volunteer gives the money to the PTO organization ( school fee) and the tailor (school uniform) and biys and delivers the school supplies. They have to have a very specific school bag. How do you know what type of hair they have?? The only good thing was the pads.
Thank you. The child who gets that box will be blessed and want to share his ball with friends as well as some of the other things. Love the print outs you include. I was happy to learn about “Blessings in a box”.
You are welcome and thank you for watching! I hope you enjoy visiting Blessings in a Shoebox!
That was the most thoughtful 10-14 girl box I’ve ever seen! You gave some wonderful ideas to use from here on out. I love that age range also bcz I am afraid that age may not be thought of as often. I have worked at the distribution warehouse in Atlanta a few times. It’s a wonderful experience!
Thank you for watching. I'm glad you were able to be a part of the distribution center. That is wonderful!
Great soccer ⚽️ shoebox! Thanks for sharing! 😊
You're welcome and thank you for watching!
They are not a good orginazation and kids don't get the toys. Please researh this.
Please site your proof when making your allegations!
There are many videos on here stating the truth. And Franklin Graham is involved. That says it all right there. He is false like his father.Look him up too you will find the truth.
Is that the 6 or 12 quart box?
It is the 12 quart box.
@@DOLLS.HOBBIESFORCHRISTIANWOMEN thank you. I've used those. 😃
FABULOUS! So many great ideas (never thought about including a premade and starter bracelet in my kits)! The girl that receives this is going to LOVE everything! Thanks for sharing ... 💕
Thank you!
How does your size shoebox compare to the cardboard standard SP box? I’m a little confused on the size. Thanks
Hello. The plastic boxes that I am using are more if a boot box size. So, a standard shoebox is about 6 quarts, these are 12 quarts. The measurements are 16 7/8" x 11 1/2" x 5 7/8". The room is just about double of the standard box. Next year, I am really going to try and stick with the standard size, but these larger boxes are a lot easier to work with and pack. Thank you for watching.
I love the bed you made for the doll, so cute!
Thank you so much!
“According to the American Dental Association (ADA), a toothbrush cover may actually create a moist environment that promotes the growth of bacteria on your toothbrush 1 3. This can harm your oral health and increase the risk of infection. Therefore, the ADA recommends not using a toothbrush cover for everyday use, and only using it for short periods of time when traveling “
Is it okay for shipping though?
That is why I put a small bèad zip bags over my toothbtushes.
I am always looking for new ideas. 90% of the boxes that I make are for the 2-4 yr olds. Thanx for your info. I will start putting receiving blankets in my boxes....😊
You are welcome and thank you for watching!
Loving your videos!! I like the idea of little blanket. Sometimes I put an elastic headband with a flower or bow on my bears for fun.
Hey, that's a great ideas!
Great 10-14 girls shoebox! She will love it. I like how you made your pads with the button. So far I have bought them to send. I have lots of plans to make them but so far I haven't found the time. I also like how you put the red cross symbol with your bandaids etc. I will be doing that. ❤ Thanks for sharing! 😊
You are very welcome! Yes, it can be hard to fun the Tom for sewing. If you do get the chance, just treat them like an assembly line and it seems to help. Thanks for watching!
I'm loving your horse backpacks!! I'm going to learn how to make those for next year!! That bead kit was an awesome find!!
They are pretty simple. I think you will enjoy making them! I think, really, it would be fun just to make bead kits too. It is so fun with the pretty colors. Thank you for watching!
Love your videos!! Lots of great ideas!! Just found your channel. I remember playing jacks as a 10-11yr child and I was very good at it. I remember playing over and over wanting to master the game. If you think it's hard to pack that big box, you should see me trying to cram everything into these really small boxes from our church. They are a flimsy foldable box from Samaritans Purse from years ago. I have to use lots of clear packing tape on the outside, so it doesn't fall apart. LOL. We are a small church. So, we've had these boxes for years. They are not the typical ones that Samaritans purse uses now, which looks much studier and bigger that I see in other's videos. I've been packing for about 14 yrs now. Took a break last year but decided to do it again this year and it has been so nice to see people making videos about it. Wonderful sharing community here on YT. I think the coming year I'm going to try and do some more handmade things through out the year to put in for 2024. Thanks for making your videos and sharing ideas with others.
Thank you for watching! Yep, I remember playing jacks too. I liked all those kinds of games when I was a kid. Cards, dominoes, yo-yos... Taping the outside of your boxes is a good idea. Perhaps you could inspire some others from your church to make some things with you. You could have a devotional and then work on brainstorming some ideas and then ultimately the projects. Keep in touch. I'd like to know what kinds of things you get going on!
This is literally the type of content I have been looking for but not able to find!
Thank you!
D Rogers has some example videos and East Coast Stories and Mattman and Robyn, and Byrd Feed. And of course Christy M. from blessings in a shoebox. So that's 5 other channels with lots of great ideas as well. I just found this channel.
When I went to Africa this past February, one of the other missionaries brought a “how to draw” book and the kids LOVED it!!!! They flocked to her and drew every single picture in the book!
This is good to hear!
Great box for a young girl!! Love the horse stuffie and the romper. What size plastic box is this and where did you get it??
Thank you so much. I so hope it goes to a young lady that needs this size. I bought these boxes at Walmart. Sterilite brand. These are the next size up from the regular 6 quart shoe box. More of a boot box. I believe they are 12 quart. At the time, I bought them in two bundles if I remember right. I didn't really want to use a larger box, but boy, I tell ya, when you're trying to pack some of those bulkier items, it sure is nice to have the extra room! Thank you for watching!
You put so much thought into each box! It’s amazing!
The instructions for things are a great idea!
This makes my heart so happy!
Oh hello ❤❤ I'm a new sub jusy saw youe channel. I also love dolls :) and occ related things. God bless you
God bless you as well!
Adorable boxful for little Ms.2-4!!! 😊
You can put a note on the label saying this box is more suitable for a 2 yr old.missionaries say they really appreciate knowing that.
Cool! Thank you for telling me! I appreciate it!
Awesome, the little girl that gets this will love it!
Thank you!❤️
Do the soccer balls come deflated or do you need to deflate them yourself?
They will need to be deflated. You can use the pump that you buy to send with the ball to deflated it. The needle goes into the hole and you will hear the air starting to escape. You just kinda squeeze the ball to help it along to get as much air out as possible.
Great box, thanks for sharing! Fun to get more ideas for my boxes. How did you poke holes in the coloring books? I don't have a long reach stapler but would like to be able to print and send these.
Thank you. I used an awl to poke the holes in the coloring book pages. After you print them, line them up, fold in half and if you have an ancient phone book haha, or something similar, naybe an old magazine, set the coloring book spine in the middle of the open book and punch your holes. You just need something to catch the point of the awl. A thick piece of Styrofoam would probably work too. If you have an office staple gun, you can staple it into the spine as well. Just don't use the arm and there again, use a thick piece of Styrofoam underneath the book. Gently pull the book off of the foam and your staple should be sticking out. You can then use long pliers to push over flat or push them flat against a block of wood, etc. I don't have a long arm stapler either, so we gotta use ingenuity 😊 thank you for watching and your kind comment!
Perfect box for an older child (we packed a lot of the same things)! Thanks for sharing ... 💕
Thank you!
Another FABULOUS shoebox and lots of useful tips! Thanks for sharing ... 💕
