Guys, could you please help me make a decision? I'm between the mt-07 or the Cb 650r. I currently own a ninja 400 and everyone keeps going on about the "slipper clutch" present both in the ninja and the cb, but lacking in the mt. What is worth, an Mt with the legendary cp2 engine or the Cb with an inline 4 but inverted forks, slipper clutch, yada yada. I really appreciate the help

Sounds fairly smooth compared to the IRC quickshifter from Italy. Those downshifts at the end when you pulled in the clutch made me cringe. The painful clunking from the gear dogs is such a pet peeve of mine. That is most certainly not something you should do often, as it has the potential to put undue stress on the dogs over time. 1st gear has specific recesses that are extra reinforced for the corresponding gear dogs. It has got to be this way for the known clunk into first, caused by the oil keeping the clutch plates stuck together even though the clutch is disengaged. Essentially, the crankshaft spins the clutch basket and the input shaft + clutch boss simultaneously while the output shaft sits still in neutral with the rear wheel. Because of the oil preventing the plates from slipping when the lever is pulled in, the clutch continues to spin the input shaft... and the clunk you here is the gear dogs engaging and breaking the sticky plates free.
