Why can't people understand that most folks that died before the 20th century are already dust and dirt. Preserving the body is a later, more modern thing and surely can't mean all those that are dust and dirt, and those rotted in the seas can't be called. Simple Christianity 101 shows that God is not intereted in this body! It's sick, deathladen, decrepid. Made from dirt and He doesn't want that dirt back. He want's a new body for us. smh

When I was 30 i was diagnosed with colon cancer i had surgery to remove it then went through a year of chemo but it the cancer came back a year later in my pelvis and my liver i was stage 4 terminal i packed a chemo pump with me 24 hours a day and I went to radiation therapy for eight weeks but the doctors told my wife that she best prepare my kids because the treatment didn't work but God had different plans for me i am now 51 I've been cancer free for 18 years and I praise God every day

Everyone correctly says God can do anything. Yes he "can" but that's not the point. The deliberate act of destruction of the body (via cremation) that God made is different than the body inadvertently turning to dust in a big explosion or house fire. The body is not ours to destroy. So the question isn't whether God can recreate someone after cremation. The question is WILL he? A principle of preserving what he made to the limit of our ability is being overlooked. Modern people generally are poor critical thinkers. Too emotional to engage in logic.

Interesting topic. As a Lutheran I believe God is loving and forgiving when you believe in him. Many many thousands of years ago burials were not the display of modern times. Think how the average person lived 2,000 years ago. The dead were buried quickly and probably almost anywhere. Nowadays we have funeral homes and services and limos etc. The costs are overwhelming for many people. I believe God understands when people can't afford a traditional funeral. Also I have always wanted to be cremated-I am so claustrophobic -I never want to be in a box 6 feet below. IMO what we do and how we live our lives is what matters-not what becomes of our dead body. Interesting takeaway. I had a thought while the ashes were being pulled out of the kiln...many others have been incinerated and there will be ashes/dust left from them all. How about prejudiced people? They are Christian but are prejudice towards other than their nationality. I've worked in the heath field and ran into health-care workers that are prejudiced towards people who are not look like them.
