Here's a channel for everything from tutorials, to camping tips, to engineering experiments, and everything in between!
How to install CB Hood Channel Mount (Firestik SS-174)
In this video I'll show how I installed my CB radio antenna in the hood channel on my 2002 Toyota Tundra. Here is the Amazon link for the mount:

Zions National Park Drivethrough (10x Speed)
Переглядів 262 роки тому
This is a drive-through video of Zions National park, going through the south entrance, turning around at the Emerald Pools parking lot, and making our way out the east entrance through the tunnel.
Bicycle Fork Vibrations
Переглядів 5923 роки тому
I used an Arduino to take measurements from a bike fork, comparing how the vibrations from a wobbly wheel and a true wheel compare. TL;DR take your wheels to the shop and get them trued!
How to Prepare Mate (the Uruguayo way)

When you cut the coax I knew I was wasting my time watching someone that is a beginner.
The only thing I wanted to see you didn't show, going through the firewall.
Where did you feed the wire through from fire wall to the cab?
@@MrROADDOG1964 through an opening just under the emergency brake pedal and interior fuse box. There was a bundle of cables running towards it and I just followed them.
Thank You
Great video. Thanks for clarifying the ring and terminal wiring connections for me. It might seem elementary for most but I needed that.
Why cant I just brew it like regular green tea? what would it do to the flavor?
@@navnitsahota2364 you certainly can brew it like any other loose-leaf tea! They call that “mate cocido” and has the same general flavor, but I think there’s something special in the ritual of preparing it the traditional way.
I like it, but I want my antenna on the roof like my VHF/UHF NMO. Anybody know any good mounts for up there?
@@randykitchleburger2780 the only roof mounts I’ve seen are magnetic. They are fairly common and cheap.
@@backcountryengineer6516 I ended up going with one of thess through hole brass NMO mounts, I wired it with LMR400 and it works very well
12 min to preaper mateh!!!!?
Thank you for this video, do you have a video where you installed those light. Also where did you find the brackets for them?
Unfortunately I don’t have a video for that. And I don’t know where the bracket came from, they were a gift from a friend!
Thanks for sharing in English. I used to drink about 4 big cups of coffee a day and I felt quite shity without it or if the morning coffee was due stress not available. Since I startet drinking Yerba I overcome the coffein addiction. I „survive“ without coffein and function normally and it give me some stress releave. I only drink Yerba if I got time or I take me some time for it. It slowes me down but gives me energy. It’s beautiful. It’s like a treatment.
Since you installed this mount, have the screws loosened up due to vibration, or have they stayed put?
They’ve actually held up perfectly! Still solid as ever.
This seems like exactly what I'm looking for, as I also have a 1st Gen Tundra. What antenna did you use? Or will any antenna work with this mount?
I used a Firestik antenna, same brand as the mount. There’s some lookalike products that probably have the same threads. Just verify that it uses the same 3/8” threaded stud.
Follow yerbamatelab, not saying this guy is bad cause he's not, and obviously the fan base like this guy, all I'm saying is yerbamatelab has so many more tips, and just generally knows a lot more about yerba, there's the tips about 45 degree angle, using your bombilla to keep the gourd at a 45 degree angle, using 40-60 degree water from a temperature controlled kettle is so important cause it takes the bitterness out the leaves and leaves a smooth flavour even with the most bitter of yerba, these two tips and so many more this guy doesn't know about, nothing against you fella you've lived in Uruguay, but yerbamatelab is so much more informed, take a look at his UA-cam mate, you could learn so much more
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll admit that I didn’t know the trick of using the bombilla to keep the mate at a 45 degree angle during the initial yerba soak. A temperature controlled kettle would be nice, but my intention was to show how the Uruguayos drink mate on the go, with just a thermos and not fancy gadgets.
Awesome video man. Very informative and I love how you show how to progress through the day
Thank you for this video, I do have one question for you. Where did you feed the cable thru the firewall?
The part about moving the bombilla around the cup after each pour using more and more of the mate each time is something I haven't yet seen in other videos, but very important to know. Thanks!
It’s 9:23 and I was just about to drink it for the first time lol thanks for the warning story at the end!
Haha glad I could help!
Such a good video. So many questions answered and I know exactly what I'm looking for now. You rock.
Thank you!
I love the fact that you say "Yerba" in the Uruguayan style like "sherba" hahaha sounds so natural, thanks for teaching and spreading about this beautiful infusion, big hug from an Uruguayan living in Sweden!
10:19 he drank his first one at night before bed kkkkk 🌙
Oh boy! I wish you knew! Specially the Green package. If you don’t need cafeeine drink the one from LA SELVA PARA NERVIOSOS. This one has TILO. This is the ONLY I can drink. Enjoy!
Just got a kit, have wanted to try this for ages. Thanks for the informative video
Thanks for posting this! I just got a kit with everything for Christmas, the yerba has finally arrived, and tomorrow morning will be my first go! I'm very excited!
How’d it go?
I love mate!
I smoked six blunts of this stuff and I'm still not high
The caffeine feels different from coffee. I used to drink about 5 cups of coffee a day and now I'm doing 2 cups of yerba mate a day. Feels like yerba mate delivers a steady flow of energy.
dude you forgot paraguay
Exactly the information and instruction I was looking for. Thank you!!
The first sip of yellow Canarias is the tastiest!
Man of culture 🧉
Where'd you get the LED light mound?!
i would never make hole on my truck, i'll rather install a bull bar and install it in front there
What’s the purpose of this comment what do you hope to achieve here
Do you realise how much cutting is involved in adding a bull bar to a vehicle? This sort of mount makes far less change to the vehicle.
@@BreannaVK3BBS buddy wants to add a stick on bull bar
You'll stop being scared to modify your vehicle one day.
I wouldn’t put mine there it looks awkward.
Nice video mate
I dunno, I got a setup just like this and tried EVERYTHING to get my swr below 3 and NOTHING lowers it. Different coax different radio, different mounts in the same place, no change. Somehow, i keep getting about 20 mega ohms between the connections, but that's not a dead short so I guess that's alright too.
Allow me to give you a tip, which is to keep the gourd 45° inclined until the yerba has completely absorbed the initial water
I’m surprised it works right so close to the windshield I’ve got 2 trucks with those mounts , a 2019 Silverado and a 2015 Ford f-250 and both of mine had to be further out from the windshield to get a low swr. I’ve got 55” Hustler hq27s on both of mine and they’ve never budged either.
What do this tea does to the body system
It might be blasphemy, but i prefer it cold. Its so refreshing. Used to be a big iced coffee person.
You drink as you please. In fact some people make it with ice cubes in the gourd while pouring ice water over
@@user-ni8nv5qx5g I hadn't seen anyone drink the powery stuff cold, but it works the same as the Argentine stuff. Real good.
We drink mate in syria also 🧉 we also put sugar to it
How do I get the cable through the fiat punto dashboard, drill a big hole?
I’m not familiar with the Fiat Punto, but I would look for an existing hole going into the cab through the firewall.
You Americans are good at crimping, I must say!
The CB on line sellers/stores/shops in GB are calling this a hatch mount for some reason. Bonnet mount seems more logical! An antenna mount designed to clamp onto the hatch of a hatchback car, but can also be fitted to doors, boots,
It's 10 Bucks per kilo even in Germany :)
Very good video. I know not all people have soldering irons or soldering skills, however, soldering of ring terminals/connections is preferred over crimping. Crimp connections tend to loosen over time in a mobile application (i.e. road vibration, cable flexing). It's also kind of nice if you need to remove the terminal, because it can be heated with the iron and removed without causing any damage to the cable or connector.
😂
Great video! Also the spot light on the truck. Need more videos. Thank you.
Thank you, it helped me.
Terrible audio
My mother's side of the family are all from Uruguay my great grandmother drank this stuff daily
Nice clean prefect job..really nice 👌
