This is what the beginning of late-stage capitalism sounds like. This music is the music that some of the innocent workers who jumped to their deaths that day heard. It has such a 90’s feel, yet it is the background soundtrack to the very death of the 90’s. The end of the hay-day of the American Empire. We said we were fine after we were violated this badly, but we didn’t know the blows we took that day were infectious. That infection grows and grows and grows until there is nothing left but ruins and/or the small relics of a bygone era. Like the original World Trade Center, only a few things remain from that complex. That complex symbolises our highest “Cold War victory” and “End of History” era. Now, what’s left of it, but two pools, a tree, some doors, photographs, videos, and memories. You are in denial if you think this country won’t end up in the same way these towers did. I pray for those who will end up trapped above the crash zone. I hope I’m not one of them. But, yet again, nobody does. We’re human. To get out of the tower before it’s struck, we gotta work together, as the people and the workers. ✌🏾✊🏾

It earnestly makes me sick when folks make jokes about 9/11. I get that it seems overblown, and yes a lot of the reaction that followed was severely misguided. But it was panic. Frenzy. But what especially gets me is is when folks go 'um, it was just a couple buildings, get over it'. It's not the buildings. It's the people. They had no hand in whatever conflict(s) lead up to the attack. They didn't know anything about that, probably. They just said 'goodbye' to their families one morning, if they even got a chance to, and went to work for some bigger entity that before that day didn't even acknowledge their existence beyond a number on a payroll. Or just a seat number on a plane ticket. I don't care about any conspiracy theory, any leader or party in charge, or any motives. This was fellow human beings senselessly snuffed out as a spectacle.
