Imagine if Netflix produced a documentary about Square One TV talking about the development and where the cast is now. Maybe that could help start a movement to get the show on DVD.

The Sesame Workshop, formerly known as the Children's Television Workshop, produced Square One TV - according to Wikipedia. If the Sesame Workshop still owns the rights to the show, then maybe a mass email/youtube/petition campaign can grab their attention to consider releasing the show on DVD? Or at least maybe permanent streaming. OR get an influencer to pay attention to this show and create awareness could help.

I loved this show!

I just recognized Larry Cedar in an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and broke down into (happy) tears. I recognized his voice *immediately* because I absolutely adored Square One TV as a kid. I had to come listen to this song for the 1,000,000th time. 🤩

The pacing of this sketch is so much slower than what you see on kids' TV these days. Not better or worse, just really interesting to see how different it is. My toddler enjoys the heck out of modern Sesame Street and other stuff and it's a lot faster. I bet he'd like this too, though. What a classic.

I remember seeing this when I was about 6 or 7 and it was the first time I looked at a female and went, "well, I guess they're not THAT bad." Every kid has that moment where they kind of get a hint as to whether they're straight or gay. This was my first straight moment. I looked forward to watching her take off her trench coat and into the dress in reruns, and I had no idea why.

I have to agree with the Judge Judy comparisons here. I know this predates her show (and I assume it's least partially inspired by The People's Court), but I wonder if the producers were aware of her at the time. She did have a reputation as a "tough" judge in NYC, which is where Square One TV was produced. Meanwhile the the theme music sounds like a knockoff of the Perry Mason theme.

I played along, and got the highest possible number the 2nd time. It's pretty fun to play.

The best part? The same voice-over actor, Jim Thurman, did all three voices in these segments.

Bonus points to anyone who knows what CoD means without looking it up. Fyi not Call of Duty.

So it's a bakery, so there'd be a dinner shift, and the clock at the end says 6. So I guess it makes sense if we infer that he's using his dinner break to consult with the shrink.

Man I miss this show

If we watched this and could tell the teacher what it was about the next day in school we would receive extra credit in Math. The struggle was real for me with Math. So I watched! 🙂lol
