Antonia - Epping Forest Field
I can’t help but become aware of my breathing when editing and watching this video. Antonia channels movement qualities from the ‘air’ to create this captivating work. Filmed in Epping Forest, a park inside the city of London, it feels nice to take a break from the people, hustle and infrastructure. Antonia is starkly different against her landscape, yet seamlessly an aspect of nature.

Distel - a dance film

Distel is a journey through Epping Forest, drawing movement qualities from earth, air and water. Antonia taught me that ‘Distel’ is German for ‘thistle.’ The day we filmed I found myself looking at the thistles in the field the same as Antonia dancing. I saw the contrast of a plant or person in a field, the negative of the object against the landscape: starkly different yet seamlessly an aspect...

The Time of Day is Broken: a Pacific Crest Trail story
Переглядів 57 тис.Рік тому
I’m Hannah, and I decided to hike the Pacific Crest Trail in 2022. Backpacking gave me the time and space to think-for hours and days and months-about what I wanted for myself and who I wanted to be. There is a saying: the trail provides. Here it is, providing me with the lesson that it was never about the destination, it was always about the journey. The PCT is a place of utter wonderment, she...
You seem like such a genuine person and this was a beautiful window into what the PCT gives and takes. Wow, appreciated. ❤ from Finland (our national parks are great btw)
I wish I had found hiking sooner😢. I was busy riding a road bicycle on the road next to cars…..3 mos. ago I just realized it was a stupid dangerous sport. lol now I’m in love with hiking, but I’m 65 years old….. good for you for not imploding over your break up ..be in love with yourself🎉🎉🎉
Liking history hiking .
The animations really take this to the next level. What a superb video! "I could be a free, grubby wanderer without it impacting this facade I had built for society." That is a damn powerful sentence.
Thank you Jason! <3
What a great film. Captures the true trail. Not the miles or the views, but the people, and the way the trail changes you that you never dreamed of. Thirty-four years later I am still Lao Tzu, 1990. You are JJ Bean for life.
I just wanted you to know that I’ve always dreamed of doing one of the major thru hikes. I’m on the PCT right now brining trail magic to some SOBO PCTers, as I test my aging body against the heat and climbs of the SoCal desert. I am registered for starting the full PCT next year despite being from far north, and your video was the first to inspire me to say “It’s not too late to try”. Thank You for creating this.
I think this may be the best documentary on the pct that I have seen. Thank you.
i think you encapsulated a feeling I've had since graduating college...im tired of the facade i need to put up in society. there's freedom out there, freedom from which drags my soul down. i need to start backpacking. thank you jj bean
It is indeed the journey. Well done Sis!
You left one relationship and was lost. And surprisingly enough as soon as you became inseparable and enmeshed with someone else, you felt like you were happy. 😂 Sounds like you really figured it out. lol
Beautifully made video. Thanks for sharing your adventure and your story. Well done. Cheers!
I wish I’d realized how badly I want to hike the PCT before I’d had a baby. I have a one year old now and I don’t see how I could spend this much time away from her at this age. I’ll have to wait years til I can give it a go 😢
Love your video, it's very nice and genuinly done. By the way: it's not about the journey either, it's about the company! (well, in my experience it is)
Fab vid, loved watching it.
Your storytelling is as good as the trip. It elevates. #JJBean
Beautiful footage and compelling storytelling! I love this. Thank you for sharing. I also love those sketches. :-)
Fantastic video! Loved every minute of it. JJ B runs it. What a hottie! Well done and well deserved. congrats!
good journey !!!
It somehow took me nearly a year to find this, but WELL DONE! Attempted in 2022, but it felt more like a section hike kind of year when I reached Acton. Went back last year and started over, flip flopping all around due to snow and hiking 1500ish miles. Not hiking again this year is a struggle. Thanks for helping me relive so many good memories. And man, those trail cries hit hard some days, but so worth it.
Beautiful!!! Thank you for sharing your story and your journey.
Wonderous and inspiring, thank you!
Awesome Story, loved it!
so so happy for you! thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you so much for sharing. I cried tears of joy for you. Thank you for the lessons and the motivation. ✌🏼❤️
This really inspires me. Thank you so much for making this video, beautiful, raw, honest and absolutely wonderful!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful and personal movie, thank you for sharing your journey.
Wow! So inspiring and insightful! Thanks! Great video!
awesome video and thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts. im hoping i can hike the PCT in two years.
"facade I've built for society" is real
I’m a fellow class of 2022 member who hiked a bit with the sea creatures in California. Even though I was able to get to Canada before the closing, I was so set on getting every mile that I missed out on many of the beautiful memories that you captured in this amazing video. Truly it is about the journey and the people you meet. Send my regards to seaweed and sea biscuit if you still talk to them. -smokestack, class of 2022
What an amazing journey!!! JJ Bean. Thank you!!! I loved your story. How beautifully written and narrated by you. Aloha, Coconut Wireless
all we need is people and nature! thanks for making this short film jj bean, it’s truly beautiful 💕
Well done. Well said.
Very nice. Thank you.
Beautiful story and video. Thanks for sharing JJ Bean
Thank you for sharing your beautiful journey and story ❤
This was absolutely beautiful my soul craves this kind of adventure and this left me in tears.
To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life. What a great film, showing us the quintessence of life
Walter Mitty would love this video
Came here from tiktok. What a wonderful watch. Thank you 💚
same🎉😅
Came here from your tik tok! This is so beautiful :)
Did a thru hike of the PCT in 21 and 22. only now do i realize that it is truly about the journey. Two years since my last start and I am still absorbing the lessons. great video. But I immediately check out of this video once you introduced politics. The trail provides but the trail should also be neutral.
Thanks for the warning ! Saved me the time
This made me emotional! Attempted a Flip-Flop in ‘22. Oh how I remember the fires and coming to that same conclusion towards loving the journey not the destination and the people we made memories with along the way!
Beautiful video! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful story.
Whew.. this was incredible
this video is forever on my pct playlist
This is a very good video. Thank you. You are an excellent story teller. Very honest.
Good job that was awesome
Great video. Would you hike it again?
Thanks for sharing your beautiful story of hiking and healing.
