I remember someone discussing what I will call the "20 point decision" where a young athlete was asked if they would rather score 20 points and get the headlines or score much less than that and have their team win. They chose "score 20 points". The decision not to include CC on the Olympic team demonstrates the same self-centered attitude of the young athlette but at a much greater level. The Olympic coach has a choice to make the choice they did or make a choice that will bring an audience of MILLIONS of viewers to women's Olympic basketball. What would be amazing is if even one of those already on the team declared that they were going to give their spot to CC for the good of every woman involved in basketball.
