I never respond to unknown numbers. What I do is to ignore it and immediately google the phone number.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. These scammers are able to get a hold of personal info so they seem legit. There needs to be a public service announcement warning people about this.

I had two of these clowns posing as DEA agents ring my doorbell and tell me they “intercepted” a package of “drugs” addressed to me, and that I needed to pay a cash fine to avoid arrest. They even showed me a picture of the fake package with my name on it. When I refused to cooperate, they got real nervous and took off, telling me “well, just don’t ever do it again.” Shook me up pretty good because I don’t even use illegal drugs (of any kind). I still have no idea how/why I became a target for this particular scam. Anyway, less than minute after they left, I realized what had just transpired and I ran outside to catch a license plate so I could call the real police. The scammers were long gone. They had even parked their car way down the street to avoid being identified. I still have their fake-ass DEA business card as a creepy souvenir. And if the MFers ever show up here again, they’re in for a nasty surprise.

This is why I watch these scam baiting videos to keep me up on all these bs scam calls.

I wouldnta even called em back, if they just say officer and not from whatever police dept its a scam!!

Simple solution; stop answering calls from unknown numbers.
