It's a good list. I'd say you should do the Ha Giang Loop if you are able. Most people say it's one of the best, if not THE best thing, they've ever done. But do the 4 day trip to see it all...maybe not during the winter or rainy season like some have done lately. LOL! Still waiting to see the glass bridge in Sa Pa from a Western vlogger. Seen some beautiful tours and homestays from Ba Be Lake, too.

I was first in Vietnam in 1993, where I spent 3 months travelling from North to South. At that time, a trip to Halong Bay comprised a three-hour hard seat train journey from Hanoi to Haiphong, followed by an overnight ferry to Ha Long City. Train? 3USD. Ferry? 2USD. Accommodation? 5USD. Food? 3USD per day.Tour of the islands in a local fishing boat 'hired' at the docks? 8USD for two people, including hospitality by some boat people who were somewhat bewildered by the presence of two young Westerners in their midst and who refused payment. I don't want to sound like a travel snob, although I am, since I revisited the area recently and was sorely disappointed. Overcrowded, over-touristed and catering to Western tastes/comfort. The same goes for the other places on your list

Vietnam is marvelous. I have done six of these ten destinations. Now I have Ha Giang and Nin Binh on my bucket list.

As a local. I loved this vlog (even though he "butchered" the names of places 🤣) ! Tourists.., be advised! The "little mermaid" is little (is pretty much in her name). She's only 1,20 meters (4 feat) tall. That makes here one of the smallest national landmarks in the World 😊 ! So there's that!

I have been to 5 different SE Asia countries numerous times (Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore) but Vietnam is definitely on my bucket list to visit so this definitely would help. Cheers!
