the delightful thing about there being a balance team is that metals aren't permanent yk, and if size is generally considered too unfair post-agility removal it'll get gutted too (assuming metapoly falls into a coma or some shi)

And vetex should really stop complaining about having a shit community when he's working oh so hard to keep it as shit as it is.

the reasons game died include poor optimisation lack of replayability terrible development pace ao hasnt really gone down in player count in a while and to say every update makes it worse for casual players is just entirely wrong 1.18 is having something minor catering to people who are capable of placing a cursor on their target and every bad player is up in arms; if you're shite at the game you shouldn't be in a clan or have renown, it's your own fault if you get attacked for either of those things, but maybe if you're attacked regardless you could just take a fair loss and move on instead of spending ages running for your life. it's lowkey crazy entitled to think in a game without a pvp toggle you should be able to have a 100% escape route for every fight. and this change was never even primarily targeted at pvers, pvpers abusing it and being unkillable for the last year and a bit are the reason this is happening. regardless though, it's not like you're gonna be locked in place standing still on the ground when people attack you, youll just be at fair odds when trying to run away

@@Q_ari while the game certainly is laggy, you're blaming the wrong reasons for it's downfall and comparing it to other games shows this clearly. Entry point, a game released on roblox two years earlier than AO, a game that hasn't had updates since 2022 as it's development has ended, averages 2.8K players per hours according to RoMonitor. AO has 1.4k. Keep in mind, AO currently has an event running, EP hasn't had an official event since 2022. Entry point literally has had no new content for almost 3 years, and contrary to AO which is an open world RPG, it is a heavily narrative driven stealth game, with predefined mission and maps, it would come as no surprise that it is technically a lot less replayable than AO. So why the difference ? Simple really, EP is fun, while very mechanically complex it's a game pretty much anyone can enjoy, while builds exists, you don't need to use an off game site to figure out a build that holds up to the tougher difficulties, which also allows for a lot more variety in builds and thus in ways to play the game, while a pvp mode exists, it's not the game's focus, and is a completely balanced mode as everyone has access to everything, no countless hours of grinding required. The difference in the end, is that EP was made for people to enjoy, whereas AO has consistently removed ways for people to enjoy the game in their own way in favour of a singular "true" way to play the game that only appeals to a very small part of it's original community. The very fact that some of the biggest game mechanics should according to you be avoided if you don't want to deal with the toxic pvp community speaks volumes. You speak of taking a fair loss, how can you consider a fight fair when you could be jumped at any time with an attack dealing a good third to fourth of your hp at any time especially while you're distracted doing other things like using shops. Something that unsurprisingly happens extremely often as the game rewards such low blow behaviour and let's not even talk about ganging. For players to consider a lost fair they must feel like their lost was due to their own fault, something quite difficult when you get attacked by a group of people by surprise while half your screen is taken up by a shop UI. If your answer to this is "you should just be more careful" then i ask, should players really need to stop playing the game just so they can avoid getting annihilated while doing even the most basic of tasks ? What kind of games requires it's players to stop playing the actual game if they don't want to immediately die ? What kind of game makes server hoping a core part of it's gameplay loop ? Is that really the kind of game we want AO to be ?

@@Q_ari At that point I'd just go after someone else because chances are not many people are running that much agility, plus it's not like you can't use agility to catch them too. If they're running that much agility casually, chances are it's because they can't fight so if you catch them and you have roughly the same amount of stats then ur prob gunna win.

@@flarethefox9836 if you just sit around in AO enjoying the atmosphere that's not really comparable to looking at an art piece though is it? in AO there's things to be doing, vetex didn't make it to be an atmospheric hangout game, however an art piece is just meant to be looked at; the equivalent would be blindfolding yourself instead of looking at the art in question. also, if you're on 300ms and are thereby too impaired to play the game properly, that's like choosing to look at a heavily blurred art piece instead of seeking out the subject matter that you can see perfectly clearly

well the differences in the scenarios include >agilitys functionality is inherently unfair >vetex doesn't want it in the game >size IS counterable it's very different and agility being replaced with run speed gems should mean the game isnt ruined for the 6-7 people that enjoy dark sea runs in 2025

@@mwapfu boku no roblox, a game which released around 2018 had 5000 players. It maintained between 5000-1000 for around 5 years until recent years where it finally broke below 500. Arcane odyessy in less than half that time went from 10,000+ to 500. You realise if 10k people return for an update and 9500 of them leave, its because the game is objectively bad.
