Bony Mountain Endurance Ride | 40km | First ride of 2024!
Hey everyone!
I am back!!! After spending a year overseas, riding and working, I have returned to Australia and am ready to get straight back into my endurance journey with Romeo and Prince. In this video, we kick off the 2024 endurance season at Bony Mountain! Prince partners me for the 40km ride as our first for the season and his first in over a year. Romeo unfortunately couldn't come to this ride as he is out of work due to an injury :( I'm really hoping he gets better soon so that he can start his endurance season soon! Prince did super well at this ride and will be ready to have an awesome season ahead. Hope you enjoy the video :)

Hey everyone! In this video I take Romeo to our last endurance ride of 2022 in Killarney. This was Romeo's first race back since the Tom Quilty and he was on fire! We did the 80km in our fastest time yet!! I am so proud of all that Romeo has achieved to get to this point and have such a successful year. I am still away in the UK but desperately wishing I was back home with Romeo and Prince! I h...

Hey everyone! In this video Prince'i and I set off to Tenterfield in NSW (our second ride out of Queensland - I messed this up in the video :') ) We had planned on doing the 80km ride but mother nature had other plans! Unfortunately we didn't get to start the ride but the safety of horses and riders was put first. Prince was so well behaved the whole time and has made me so proud this season. H...

I have been living in the UK since January and unfortunately won't be attending the 2023 Tom Quilty which is this week! I had intended to get this video up months ago.. but at least it is being uploaded before this years Quilty! This video brought back so many memorie...

Hey everyone! I took Romeo down to Inglewood for his last endurance ride before the Tom Quilty Gold Cup. We nominated into the 120km ride which would be Romeo's biggest ride ever! I went to the ride alone which was a bit stressful and tiring but I was determined to do this ride as I knew it would be a perfect final ride for Romeo. I was really keen to see how he would handle coming in and out o...

Hey everyone! I took Prince up to Stirling's Crossing for his final novice 80km endurance ride! I hadn't planned on taking Prince to this ride but it worked in with my plans perfectly to get him qualified and to continue Romeo's Quilty preparation. Spoilers - Prince is now an open horse! So proud of how far he has come in his endurance career and feel so proud to have ridden him for all of his ...

Hey everyone! I took Romeo down to Inglewood for an 80km ride to replace the ride he missed at the Easter Carnival. Although it wasn't in our original TQ22 lead up plans, it was at a good time and was going to work in nicely with our training. It was a solo trip which proved to be a bit difficult but Romeo was a champion and made it as easy as possible for me to handle. Only 1 more ride planned...

Hey everyone! I took Prince up to the Stirling's Crossing Endurance Complex for the annual Easter Carnival. My plan was originally to take Romeo for his and my first 120km mini-marathon but he wasn't 100%. Prince stepped up to the plate and was my steed for the weekend! He did really well and has now officially overcome his bad experience at Stirling's the year prior :D Only 1 more 80km ride to...

Hey everyone! This is the first endurance ride of 2022! I took Romeo and Prince to Bony Mountain to compete in 2 40km rides to get their endurance seasons started. Both boys, particularly Romeo, were extremely fit and ready to go for this ride! There were a few times on track where getting a few strides of walk in was a real challenge haha.. At least I know they are both well prepared for their...

Hey everyone! The 2022 endurance season is upon us! I took a solo journey up to the Stirling's Crossing Endurance Complex for some pre-season training with Romeo. While we were up there, I was lucky enough to borrow a beautiful Gaston Mercier Margeride saddle from Stirling's Arabians to try out. Over the two days, Romeo and I did just over 45kms in the saddle which was a great way to see whethe...

Hey everyone! Just before Christmas, I took Romeo and Prince to Glen Rock Forest with my friend Zoe. It was a lovely spot and we met some other riders on the trail with their own pretty horses. There were so many creek crossings and one in particular was extremely beautiful! Both of the boys were so well behaved and this has now become a favourite spot to go to. Hope you enjoy the video :) My n...

Hey everyone! For the last endurance ride of 2021 I took Prince out to attempt his second 80km qualifying ride. It was a new track and the conditions were very challenging. The first leg was very hot, humid and included a new concept to me - a heart rate gate! We then braved a thunder/rain storm and a sand storm for the second leg but unfortunately didn't get through the final vetting. Prince t...
Bony Mountain Endurance Ride | 80km

Hey everyone! I took Prince to the LoVERS Bony Mountain Endurance ride to attempt his first successful 80km completion. It was a bit daunting since we would be riding alone and Prince has not been the most settled at endurance rides by himself! Prince put in 110% and not only did the ride with me solo with no rearing or bucking but also completed the ride and we placed 2nd MWT and were 3rd over...

Beautiful desert baby boy! ❤

ThNk you for the beautiful ride! And congratulations!
Thank you! It was such a great ride :)
Thanks for the trip down memory lane of what its like to own an Arab 😂! A forward horse is a thoroughbred 😂... an Arab is another kettle of fish...! I was a touch excited until, I realised you keep going back to the same place each time..... 🙄...... I was certainly wondering what saddle that was? since I've been out of the horse game for about 20 odd years... p.s super keen riding in a bit-less bridal 🤪 I would never have been able to pull Cherox shogun up 😂... He knew walk... trot 😂 (nah who am I kidding) and canter (nope still kidding that was reserved for on the spot) and galop.... Have a few horsey sites you may like that I love, Steve Young, & Free spirit equestrian along with Raleigh link (not that I like all of her vids). But they all have amazing horse training techniques that I could only wish they were around when I was younger in the horse world 😊
You are absolutely welcome! Arabs are the best! The saddle I am using in this video is called a Holmbros saddle, they are a specialty endurance saddle made here in Australia! :)
So awesome! Thank you for sharing!
I love your video so much!
Thank you so much! This means a lot :)
Just found your channel. Congratulations. Just wondering why the start time was in the middle of the day instead of early in the morning?
Hello! Thank you so much! We usually start our rides in the early morning or around mid afternoon so we ride in the coolest parts of the day :)
Romeo is so cute, his little facial expressions, reminds me of my arab 😊
Where you at girl? 😂 cant leave us hanging with no horsie videos...feeling withdrawals here. Heres to an awesome 2024 to you and Romeo and other horses 🎉🎉😊
Oh thank you!! I am back! New video just posted a few days ago! :D
I can see that very nice Earth Horse Equipment halter!!! Lovely colours, Beautiful horse!! Sorry your ride got cancelled :(
They are the best halters and horse rope products!

You should only use leather on your horse 😢
He's such a beautiful boy... Arabians are absolutely adorable. How I miss my gentle stallion...💔😭
Oh that's so sad :( Arabians are the best! So kind and intelligent :)
Beautiful boy ❤❤❤
Well done Im 68 years of age and haven't ridden a horse since I was 17 working on a cattle station I worked on , I rode horses from the age of 7 and my Dad was a hard taskmaster where I had to learn to ride bareback first and then eventually got a saddle without stirrups and then finally earned my stirrups.. I use to be always allocated the nighthorse Morgan who was the quietest of the station horses.I eventually got gifted by the property owner a small mare who they use to race in country races.. I had her until we left Talwood in the 60's after the drought that devastated a lot of the station owners and drove them to the brink. Because we returned to city life where there was no where to keep her let alone transport her there she was left back with her previous owner. After a brief stay in the city we returned to country life be it a bit closer to Brisbane at Toogoolawah where we worked on a Droughtmaster stud until I reached to age of 17 at which point I decided I'd had enough of station life of 60 hr weeks and horrible pay and moved to the city. Now I'm retired I have frequently thought about riding again but the expense of buying a horse and dedicating the required amount of time to it could be too much but at least I had this nice video of your doing this amazing ride through the Brisbane Valley highway. thank you very much.
Nice video! I’m wondering how the course has been marked and if you have crew points on each loop. I’m usually also ending up all by myself all alone with my horse on the trail. I guess that’s what endurance and perseverance is all about. Finishing with sound and healthy horse is such an accomplishment- and never forget the crew behind the 2. You pointed that out nicely 🤗👍🏻😍
The course is marked by a crew of amazing volunteersd and ride organisers! No we do not have crew points in Australia, we are all alone on track! I might make a video soon about Australian endurance as it does differ from other places around the globe. :)
What stirrups are you using.?
They are barefoot caged stirrups! :)
Congrats!! Great video of a wonderful day! I'm going to start my filly next year, with plans for endurance, so videos like this are entertaining AND educational!
Thank you! Oh that's so exciting! Endurance is such an amazing sport - I'm glad my videos give a bit of insight to what its like at a ride! :D
Yippie, well done!!
Thank you!! :)
@@romeothearabian please do more content we love it!
Cami! Thank you so much for posting these videos, they truly make my day. I'm going onto year 12 next year and these videos give me hope to ride more and set goals for the future. I haven't had much time to ride recently so seriously these videos are so entertaining. I'm hoping to purchase another horse in the future and expand my riding knowledge. Cannot wait to do endurance riding and shows in the future! Romeo and Prince are truly beautiful. :-)
Oh thank you so much!! This means a lot to me :') Enjoy your final year of school, it will be a great year! Yes, I'm so lucky to have such beautiful horses <3
The only thing worse than driving two and a half hours to a ride that gets canceled at the last minute is being the ride manager who has to eat the expenses for the vets who have already shown up, for the awards they have already purchased and refunding entry fees, as well as all the other assorted costs that go into managing a ride. Every ride manager's worst nightmare. While I have not had to cancel a ride, I have held a ride in weather that was so foul a number of riders elected not to go but thankfully most of them very generously let me keep their entry fee.
It's so hard for the organisers! This was actually the 3rd year in a row this ride got cancelled.. my heart broke for the club running it! First COVID, then bushfires and then rain!
Haha awesome video, I love your horses ❤😂
thank you so much! I love them too <3 :)
Love this video.. the actual reality of horses! 😂❤
When things go to plan with horses, its a very very good day!
Shame your ride was cancelled 😞 (-: Marion

Thank you! :)
omg thats my shed. where romeo was staying
Awesome! You are so good team! Good luck in season 2023 🎉
Thank you so much :D
Nice to follow you, Greetings from Rutten Netherlands
Hello from Australia! It is so cool to have international viewers :)
So lucky you can just ride out and have long trails from where the horses live. Makes training so much easier when you don’t have to float them every time you want to do a decent ride which is why I don’t aim to do anything greater than a 40km too stressful 😅 and looks like youve created a rocket ship of a horse there 😂
What a great horse you have and so beautiful
Thank you! He is pretty amazing <3
What a gorgeous horse, it would be great to hear about how you prepared to do the ride and how long it took for Romeo to get this fit
I’m really curious to how the TQ22 went. :)
I have just finished editing the video! I know its super late but better late than never right?! :D I'll upload very soon <3
Your lucky. Our horses always 💩 as soon as they got on. That was my bedroom 😆
Oh no that's the worst!
When will you be posting the Tom Quilty? X
I have just finished editing the video! I'll upload very soon <3
What saddle is that ?
It is a Holmbros saddle :)
I ❤ your channel! Your so inspirational. Just a question though, do endurance horses need a lot of care and training?
Oh thank you so much! Endurance horses need lots of care and training, especially if you want to compete in the longer distances!
Tysm!
