Für den Bass sollte es jedoch eine Oktave tiefer angesetzt werden. Die Töne sind für Bässe oft zu hoch.
@@ronny5211, was ein Bullshit, das ist die originale Basslage bei Mendelssohn. Da muss nichts eingerichtet werden. Den Fehler haben wir zu lange gemacht und dabei großartige Werke nur verschlimmbessert.

Isn't it stunning? I think this must have been rearranged by our music director George King, because the only sheet music I could find for this is in the 1971 New Catholic Hymnal (which doesn't match the v2 and v3 harmonizations we did). If anyone can advise I'd be very grateful to be corrected :)

Wir haben das Lied in einem unserer Chorhefte, allerdings von einem anderen Komponisten und in anderer Tonart. Es beginnt einstimmig und ist dann anschließend 4-stimmig (SATB), allerdings ist es schneller. Für mich ist der Bass wichtig zum Üben, sowie der einstimmige Part, bei dem wir alle simultan singen. Alternativ könnte das Einstimmige auch ein Solist bzw. Solistin singen.

It is Madaleen Mahne, a lady from Pretoria, South Africa. I wish I could persuade her to do more singing - she has such a lovely clear and strangely touching voice. Although she studied music, she has not (very sadly) tried to be very active professionally :O
