    Live with an MPC? Funny! Maybe playing backing tracks! It’s too slow loading sounds for transitions and changes. Maybe as a controller? I would use a stage piano, arranger keyboard, or workstation synth for live performance. I don’t know what you do live but I wouldn’t even contemplate it beyond a controller and I have three MPCs, one is a Key 61 with twice the RAM. I don’t what you’re thinking. MPCs are great for composition and production. It’s in the name “music Production Center”. They don’t have the immediacy for live performance how I think of live performance.

    • @TheChrisVella
      @TheChrisVella 8 годин тому

      Yeah I think I was mainly looking at just sounds for this video. You could probably set up playback but I’d imagine it would be a bit of a nightmare to set up. This was more testing out the limitations of it.

    Really enjoyed this video, got me researching the Triton! The track grooved HARD, and it inspired me to do these limiting challenges with only one synth! Recently I've been messing around with my trusty MicroKORG, as well as probably my favorite soft synth, OB-Xd which is a POWERFUL piece of software. Love the video!

      Thanks so much Aaron 😁 Glad you enjoyed the video! I really love these challenges, I find you get some great use out of the synth and it’s really great to dive in to what it can provide.

    What was the point of Akai putting all that heavyweight keyboard sounds if processing was going to be an issue??

    • @matthewgaines10
      @matthewgaines10 День тому

      It’s not a big issue in its intended use as a Music Production Center. Anyone talking about using one live is on some other stuff.

    • @TheChrisVella
      @TheChrisVella 8 годин тому

      I thought it was good to see how the heavyweight sounds would hold up against each other. It’s a shame it starts to run out of CPU but I’m sure there’s smaller versions that have less going on which will be more forgiving on the cpu.

    'Sup Chris...seen this doing the rounds on the net for a while. As soon as I googled this plugin I saw 'Gold Clip Alternative' high up in the search so I braced myself for the price...I'm glad I did..$250 is a bit of a stretch for a clipper. There are many premium alternatives that's more cheaper. For what it does imho is somewhat negligible for that price. Yep, it does what it does but for two-fiddy spondoolies errrrr.....that a pass fo me. Great demo all the same amigo

    • @TheChrisVella
      @TheChrisVella 9 днів тому

      Cheers for your input Lloyd, yeah I agree 250 is a little on the spenny side of plugins in its category. I think as an alternative to the more affordable options it’s a very unique flavor of clipping that sounds pretty solid. But saying that I’d happily stick to using 1 type of clipper at a time.

    I think the real answer is still knowing your speakers and good or bad knowing your room and how they relate to the targets you mix and master for. I think room treatment is more about creating a space you can spend a lot of time working in without ear fatigue.

    • @TheChrisVella
      @TheChrisVella Місяць тому
