Good review 👍 I agree with everything you said with the exception of your opinion on Kussain's solders. It's a superhero universe . They are not going to be dressed like a regular military outfit from the Middle East in the real world. The same way T'Challa's African ceremonial clothes just happens to look like a superhero costume 😅. In a superhero universe different rules apply.
Good review. 👌 I enjoyed most of the pre Alan Moore Supreme. I think the mini series Legend of Supreme, Supreme Annual #1 and Gladiator/Supreme were the best written stories ( all by Keith Giffen).
Good review 👍 I enjoyed (and still enjoy) the first 5 issues of Youngblood.I enjoyed the Brigade mini series too. I enjoyed Deathmate and I enjoyed all the Marvel crossovers with Extreme Studios.
It's always a good idea to do a review of Youngblood #1, because everyone has strong opinions about it and they want to know what team you're on. I agree with you that Youngblood #2 is peak Liefeld, for what that's worth, although he would occasionally get close to that again- the line count on #8 & #10 cranks back up, but #2 is the last time it didn't feel forced.
💕💕💕
The collab we never knew we needed
No disrespect but I don't think you read this properly. Peter David actually made a FLY reference in this very issue but Miguel's origin is nothing like that movie. This series is actually very original .Issue #25 is when you get his real origin.
@@afroscifizianzcomix7836 maybe I didn't. I remember thinking this was the fly back in the 90's when I first read this. I never made it to issue #25.
Good review. Have you read Big Bang Comics from Image Comics in the 90's? The stories were a homage to the Golden Age, Silver Age and modern era but without Alan Moore's subtle cynicism. The crossover with the Savage Dragon was very entertaining.
@@afroscifizianzcomix7836 I didn't even know that existed until recently. I'll have to find them.
What a mess they made of the Frazetta cover.
@@joegravel9435 agreed.
Wtf is going on in that cover, dawg....
Good review, bud. I feel like I want to watch as many people review this as possible, just to make sure it's as bad as I remember.
I still can't believe how long it took me to realize the ship turns into a helicopter after one page!
@@Ghost_Girl_Bob Lol yeah, me too, I needed someone to point that out to me. Too much other stuff to focus on in this issue.
There is an old english exclamation "Odds bodkins", it means God's body. I have to assume odds bloodkins is a weak play on that.

Holy cow. Seeing this hit me with waves of memories. Thank you. Great art great comic
I don't know if Neal Adams was THE best comic book artist, but his Batman is (IMO) definitive for sure.
Great channel! I want more of Image!
Such a great book. I wonder if Ordway did a full Trade paperback collection of this first run. 🤔
@@wrestledeep they did. I have it.
This cover is incredible - it is one of the most memorable, not just because it is so well done, but because it is one image - One badazz image!
@@cliffwoodbury5319 agreed!
Nice looking stuff, like the retro inking style.
🙂🔥🔥
Jumpstart was meant to be Wildstar's daughter. Such a pity Ordway bailed from this character after the first series. Apparently Michael Tierney attempted to launch a lawsuit against Image over the name, and while it never went anywhere, Jerry walked from Gordon, refusing to work on the title further.
@@Pork_Hunt didn't know about the lawsuit. That's a shame. But Jumpstart was supposed to be Wildstars daughter??? That's confusing as hell since she sounds like she's hitting on him all the time.
@@Ghost_Girl_Bob Ordway’s original design for Jumpstart was published in Modern Masters Volume 13: Jerry Ordway from TwoMorrow Publishing, and the really interesting things is that there’s a note on it that reads “streak in roots of blonde hair (like father)”. It would explain why, even though Jumpstart is an enemy, she keeps helping him. If that’s the case, though, the fact that she’s also shown acting sexually aggressive towards him is a huge red flag! I suppose Jumpstart’s backstory is one of the many things Gordon had worked out that he never had the opportunity to explain in the published stories.
Cool you added the warning at the start of the video. I believe comics should have the same warning labels that any professional level art mediums have, because they have the power to influence individuals in positive as well as negative ways. It also would be a way to bring more constant readers into the industry, as it would add some form of accountability to the art form, that works in multiple ways for growth. The best of Rob Liefelds art is some of my favorite to look at but most of it is skipabble to me - almost luaghable (i can't draw) and it is clear he decides when he tries and when he doesn't, and most of his work has been half-behinded at best. I feel most people feel the same way about him, and wonder, what if he actually gave a dang on all the stories he did, what his legacy in American superhero comics would be.
I loved this series. Mostly for the Jerry Ordway artwork, but the costume design was really eye-catching. That cover was outstanding.
@@joegravel9435 I really loved the costume!
Looks fantastic! Love the black and white with the gray tones.
Thanks dude!
Nice work Bob! Looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks!
Dude: Brigade. You gotta Brigade. It's like every D-list movie where nothing happens you've ever seen, it's so bad. Marat Mychaels can't draw to save his life and Eric Stephenson is not helping him one iota on the script. I love it so much. And great review!
I don't think I have any Brigade books. I'll have to track them down.
🙌😊
This was a fun concept, kinda wish I'd spent more time looking at it before. If you ever feel like following up on it, the challenge goes till Oct 1st (or you can Liefeld it and do it a month later, totally within the rules), I'd love to see some pages. Also, I don't know why I don't just make a Cable for my comic, you're right, he reused that shit over and over. Until Deadpool got popular, then it was more important to crow about that.
Thanks for the comments. Yeah, you never see him saying he's the creator of TROLL!
None of us took it that seriously Man. At best we didn’t get your joke. There was no reason to leave.
I just felt like I fell into something that was going down the wrong path and I didn't want to do that. That's all. I can always join again. Thanks.
I thought it was funny! Hope to see it finished!
I don't know if I will ever finish it, but if anyone else wants to use these characters, they are welcome to use them!
@@Ghost_Girl_Bob I'm adding fake 90s style ads to my ashcan. It would be great if you could at least do a nicely rendered team pin up for a "coming soon" promo ad. I can do the titles and text. Just an idea!
@@Endraven_Prime I think I can do that. Give me a couple days!
Man, this was a fun project. Sorry you left.
I wish I had more time to devote to it but I was working on other projects. Maybe I will complete something with these characters in the FUTURE!
Just based on the cover id say yeah!
@@tysonlafrance9203 lol. I hate to say this but the cover was the best part!
Success destroyed Rob's progression as an artist. That's my theory
I can agree with that. His level of care diminished when it was established that he could produce garbage and people would still buy it. "Why should I waste my time drawing backgrounds when I get paid the same?"
Four-Sight is a dope name when you know the character has 4 eyes
I'll make a short vid about those characters I made as a joke so you can see them.
Sky Ranger looks cool but he doesn't look like a ranger... That's the problem with Image, some of their characters look don't match their names, and even for the times some of the characters outfits were out of date.
Looks like an amazing comic that as you said was supposed to have larger implications, and it's sad they never bore fruit. I understand what you are saying about Fantastic-4, but never thought of it that way - A kid cartoon whose characters had superpowers. I was watching a review yesterday (i had seen it before) in witch "the thing" actually took on a second mutation and had a far more menacing look, and your comment had me wondering if Kirby had a more mature audaince version of the F-4. The way Thing was looking, I'd imagine the rest of the team would have also had more mature versions, and their stories may have also followed suit. I used to tell myself I'd never read the original F-4 (i haven't yet) because I thought it was a product of the past, but after watching many reviews and seeing and hearing how good Kirby's writing was, and with how dope the "THE MAKER"'s character and story is, it makes me want to dive into the original F-4. Then the Ultimate Spider-Man came and out that kind of soured me on the Ultimate Universe (that's a whole other story - uncle ben should have been a villain) because I thought it was to simular to the original... but anyways
I was never into the Fantastic Four comics and have never really read them. I remember watching the old Hanna Barbera cartoons and that was my only knowledge of the comic characters. I think that cartoons turned me off to the comics for a long time. Now I would love to read some old Jack Kirby FF!

I always thought (and its been ages since I read the Maxx, so I might be mis-remembering), but Julie's tough talk was a way for her to punish herself (not be a victim/but in fact victimize her own self because she refuses to deal with her trauma but instead tries to bury it with lipservice against 'professional victims' and whatnot). Just a bad self emotional harm loop.
