You wanna help your dog stop being aggressive or fearful and become the companion you know he/she can be?
Let's get on this journey together!
A few years ago, I adopted a fearful little dog, who brought me to my limits very quickly.
He was reactive toward other dogs and people (especially children), scared of insects, grass, people, dogs, wind, any kind of animal,... and he tried to bite me multiple times without any warning.
But I loved him, and so I started a rush of education, internships, and books... until we became a great team, I was able to help him... and other great dog parents
So this is how this incredible journey started :)
I'm so happy to present to you my training techniques, achievements, and of course, laughs
I'd also love to invite you to wwwbravedogtrainingonline.com, where you can find amazing online courses
and feel free to write to me about your dog, questions, accomplishments, and wishes: anita@bravedogtrainingonline.com

I would LOVE to hear why you are choosing a harness as a tool to WALK your dog unless you are training your dog to pull a sled, a doing protection training, since a harness inherently incentivizes your dog to PULL!!
nope, pulling is either there or it's not. Has nothing to do with the harness This misconception comes from dogs avoiding the leash pressure on a thin collar because it hurts A harness is safer and more comfy so negative emotions don't stack up through the tool (the situation itself triggers them anyway)
Thank you!
❤️❤️
Why now?
what do you mean?
Thank you! We have a 13 week old puppy and have made a lot of progress, but this kind of pre-walk prep is amazing advice we never even considered!
so glad it helps 💗💗 and congrats to the new family member and to lots of progress 🥳 Tbh with puppies I just let them explore (no walks), takes a lot of the stress away and the prep works for that as well 🤗
24-7 muzzle?! :/ How will the dog drink water, eat, pant, etc??? This is NOT a "force free', positive/humane approach.. :(
I totally get your concerns However a well-fitting muzzle does not hinder the dog to do any of those things. It needs to be large enough to allow panting as deeply as the dog wants without him touching the metal with the chin 😉 Usually, that means, yawning is possible too A muzzle like that has nothing inhumane about it. Ofc it needs to be trained as well, so that it feels to the dog just like glasses do to us 🤓
I appreciate your channel! It takes intelligence and true decency to train a behaviorally challenging dog the correct way- the way that will build bonds, and ensure a wonderful connection and future together. More energy and commitment at the beginning.. ensures less energy and worry for the rest of your life with your dog. :) Thank you for being a voice of sanity, humanity, and compassion. Our non-human animals need all of the human advocates and protectors out there, to cancel out all those who never have their pet's best interests at heart.. :/ (And, clearly, who should never be given the responsibility and honor to ever be trusted with the care of an innocent dog in the first place.)
Thank you for your kind words 🥰 I agree our furry friends can' speak for themselves so they need us to be even more compassionate and empathetic 🤗
pulling on leash and barking at anyone that comes into the house which has escalated to lunging now.
That sounds very stressful 🐕 Might not look like it but sometimes pulling and trouble with guests are related How long have you been training?
@@BraveDogTrainingOnline About 2 years. We don't have many people round the house. I suspect it's territorial. We had a tradesman round last week and it really kicked off so I watched lots of YT videos and used a slip lead (think that's its name) for the next day. Every time he barked I did a small sharp tug of the lead and made a "tst" sound. There was a marked improvement and when I walked him past the man we made it past a few times with him just looking. Result! He's a rescue, mixed but he looks like predominantly Tibetan spaniel but very very ginger which is why I think he has something else in the mix. I'm kind of intrigued to do one of those DNA tests. Are they any good?
Wow, 2 years is a long time, cudos for the stamina 🥳 Yep on the surface that works However, it does not make him feel better about people (the underlying emotion behind reactivity towards people is most likely fear) That's often what nobody mentions about these tools or techniques 🫣 There great force-free alternatives though that really address the underlying causes 👍👍 As for the DNA tests, as long as the genome of the breeds are known, they seem to work fine but not all of them are (as far as I know) And there are street dog "breeds" that are just naturally evolved dogs. Those look similar to some breeds but aren't related. I think the tests cannot include them 🤷♀️ So may be fun to play around with but for training it's more important what your individual pup shows you than what any test could ever tell you 💗

Very kind. Great job!
Thank you ♥️♥️💮💮
What is that harness brand?
Do you mean the blue one? That's a custom made one from a colleague. I usually make them myself or have them made bc I want a clip on the neck and my rescue pups are usually between sizes 🙃
My dog is so gentle when he takes treats from my hand.
awesome 🎉🎉🐕
Nice!! :) Thanks so much for the simple, yet wonderful and smart, tips!!! :)
Thank you so much for your sweet comment, I love that the little hack helps 🤗🤗
Hi Anita. really appreciate your videos! is there a way to eliminate the audio static?
I'm so glad you find them helpful 🌸 I'll look into it, sometimes Calumi nudges the mic 🙃
If a dog eats poo. Its missing some vital things from it's diet.
That can be the reason but it doesn't have to be, some just like it and there are no nutrients missing ;) It's an evolutionary thing when dogs ate out of latrines
That dog is so fluffy! So cute.
hihi he sure is 🥰🥰
Puppies "learn" with the mouth. FULL STOP
I'm not sure I understand, what you are trying to say... care to elaborate?
This adorable pup needs to a new coat I will be glad to help
Nope, I make them myself 🙃
Love your style of training. Fabulous. ❤❤
Thank you so much 🤗♥️
Such a brilliant easy way to bond, work and train with our dogs. Thank you so very much. You are a every special blessing for our dogs and ourselves.
aaawww you are too sweet, thank you ♥️♥️♥️🐕🐕
Hello. I have got a mix breed dog, big mountain dog, big sheep dog and a bordercollie. He is 6 months now. We live in a rural area, he has space enough and we are going for walks. But on the walks he is pulling the leash like crazy. When he is on our land, from nowhere he jumps and bites me in my hands and legs. What can i do
Hi 🙃 it sounds like stress could be an issue I'd assess where that stress is coming from (besides puberty) and integrate destressing into a training plan 👍👍
You are superb, and everything you say is so reasonable. Because of that, I loved your videos, and my Pia finally opened up to me 😊😊😊
Thank you so much, and a huge congrats to Pia and you ❤️❤️
Great advice. 😂my dog thinks iam so slowly so he comes back to see if I am still there. 😂.
🤣🤣
We renewed our relationship and we enjoy again. Before I had all the time some guilty on me because she is not perfect as our peis before 😢
Oh I know that guilt and doubt, but she is perfect just the way she is ❤️❤️
From the time that I've listened to your advice, my girl has once again revealed trust in me thx so much
Thank you so much for sharing ❤️ Congratulations 🥳🥳💐
My experience is that I have to realize my own threshold to be calm when walking with my dog...because she feels all my problems and becomes insecure.
Yes, so true 🥳 Dogs are wonderful at reading our tiny signs, so we get better results when we take both needs and emotions into consideration 👍
What to do when you are walking through a street where almost every house has dogs who are barking viciously at my dog? How to behave?
It depends on your dog 🐕 Whenever I walk with a dog who can't handle it yet, I'd avoid such a street and start working on 1 house in the beginning 👍
@BraveDogTrainingOnline Thanks a lot for your tricks and answers. I had some trainers for my Pei girl who came during the COVID closure with hers for 2 months, so this was too early for Peis to be divided from their mother. So she and I slept together, and she slept on my neck. But she was fearful outside, not in the house. I pushed too much pressure on her to encounter everything: dogs, people, trailers (by the way, she adores them), and she is quite okay. Peis avoid people and just sniff them, but I made a huge mistake and began to work with trainers who worked K9 style. Then we lost our bond outdoors that we had. So, for the first time today, we renewed our bond outdoors. Thanks so much again.
aaaaaw I'm so happy for you too ❤️❤️🎊🎊 It's not easy but maybe this can be the day to forget the past and just start enjoying what is now, you are doing a wonderful job 🥳🥳
What kind of dog is the smaller short hair?
She's a mutt ❤🐕
2:50 But what if a dog, even though it likes treats a lot, completely loses interest in them when she starts being anxious, even a little bit, about certain sounds in the distance? She is a one year old pinscher mix breed who somehow learned to be afraid of modified exhaust sounds and motorbikes in the distance.
Such a great question 👍 That happens very often and in the beginning of training, she will probably not be able to do any tricks either whenever a scary sound happens What I like to do with sound sensitive dogs is pair the sound with something positive and catch it with a marker The full plan really depends on the dog, the severity of the anxiety and so many different factors 🙃 But the marker is a good start 👍👍
@@BraveDogTrainingOnline Marker such as clicker sound?
Yep, followed by whatever reward she still likes (even if it's only verbal praise) ❤
