    Which if the following is true? 1. The relief of back pressure on a 2 stroke was a topic of lengthy discussion in the 2 stroke bible. If i recall, this moves the power band of the engine towards the higher rpms at the expense of lower rpm power. 2. Resting ducks love to hear exhaust holes at 7k rpms.

      @Bags609 Місяць тому

      Depends on application. On an air cooled 2 stroke it’s relative to have an open exhaust to run a cooler motor. The air cooled cools by the jug fins so technically the faster you pull fuel in and faster you get rid of it you see a power increase and cooler running engine. Water cooled you sort of want the back pressure hence the cone pipes and stuff like dirtbikes for regen/reburn

    there are 2 obvious benefits. Get rid of the back pressure in the rig and on the same time get rid of exess speed. As a side bonus others on the water will get angry. If theese same guys own 2 wheelers the same can be applied, ie. drill your exhaust pipe before the expansion. Good trick wont get your bike anywhere. There are guys who post tuning tricks here and those who don't, hard to tell who is faster 😁
