Bob Einstein passed away on January 2, 2019, at the age of 76, shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm series creator Larry David said in a statement: "Never have I seen an actor enjoy a role the way Bob did playing 'Marty Funkhouser' on Curb. It was an amazing, unforgettable experience knowing and working with him. There was no one like him, as he told us again and again. We're all in a state of shock." And sitting next to Bob, is Pat Harrington, Jr., who could also deliver lines with perfect deadpan. Just for fun, you might enjoy this clip of Pat playing against James Coburn in the 1967 (ahead of its time) comedy film The President's Analyst: ua-cam.com/video/s2NNZdigSXg/v-deo.html
Bob Einstein's deadpan made you think he was on the level (until you knew better). I was first introduced to him as Super Dave Osborne on the David Letterman show. It took me awhile to realize it was just schtick.
How different his voice sounds from the raspy croaky way it sounded as he got older . Not criticising or belittling just wondering if he had health issues with his throat or voice box. He sounds so clear here by comparison.
I had no idea that Steve Allen was this sophisticated, I love the guy but a little bit before my time. Now I feel like I'm watching Steve's ghost when I watch Conan. BRAVO!!!!!
I totally didn't notice Bob as Officer Judy on the Smothers Brothers but I watched Steve Allen and noticed him on his show (right around this time period). I did actually get to see him on one of the shows I went to see taped because he'd been on the other show but had to do another take. It seemed that the more the audience laughed the straighter his face got. Plus he was good looking.
want to hear a joke? why did THE duck?because THE higher THE fewer! my eccentric mate Masis put me onto Super Dave Osborne and I've been laughing ever since
Looked a lot like Tom Jones.
Steve Allen sporting his famous rug.
A star is born...
I saw this show. I remember it vividly.
Be older.
Gosh! Genius xoxo
The Bob Uecker of football here.
Funny stuff.

So great to see Bob break Steve Allen. Hilarious. Bob never breaks character.
The best Norm MacDonald show was the very first one and Bob Einstein was the guest. There are laughs without a single word said at times.
I wonder where he gets his material
Way to GO, Einstein.
he's right. taking money out of his mouth. and food out of his pocket.
Little orphan Funkhouser
I was born in 92' and I've seen a lot of paradigms of comedy but that "smoke was coming from his helmet" line is a pisser LOL
The father of Super Dave Osborn looks and sounds like him

Snyder!
What a brilliant actor & comedian.
Amazing how Bob could keep a dead pan fave the entire time…
Lol look at him looking at the ball.

The king of dead pan.
That was awesome 🤩
Why did she take SD out of character at the end? Kind of ruined it a bit.
I still have my Bill Dobson rookie card.
THANKS FOR SHARING, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SUPER DAVE. LUV CANADA.
Super Bob had the makings to be a varsity corpse

Bob learning to be funny. Not there yet.
BILL DOBSON.
He is also Albert Brooks brother!
Wow never seen him this young. He kind of looked like a young Tom waits lmao
Bob was the master of dead pan and a great comedy writer.
its one thing onto itself to master deadpan but his ability to keep a straight face as he was saying this hilarious shit is what sells it RIP
It’s important that you not take food out of another man’s wallet
Super Dave with Steve Allen?? Good lord.
Bob's brother Albert was a genius but his brother Frank was a monster!
I hear he worked on the Redd Fox variety show, I’m now sure how? A stage hand maybe?
Few people know his brother was Albert Einstein
Schneider!
The other guy is Schneider from One Day at a Time.
not funny
Great old segment but the punchline is in the title!
Ballon ball... baloon ball...
