    After going back and forth between the two furniture builds on Kasho's channel, I got an okay picture of his lathe duplicator. It's basically the head of a spindle gouge which is being guided by an X-Y axis jig, and following a template (not shown). I actually went through the procedure of building my own duplicator using a spindle gouge. I can tell you - it's tough! I had the gouge very firmly in the jig, at the perfect 40 degree angle, following a template. It made nice cuts but had a tendency to 'catch' and drive itself towards the middle of the spindle, thus gouging and ruining the cut. I'll make a video soon out of all my findings. KASHO - please show us more images of your duplicator! Your audience is very interested in how you made it work.

    16:01 thats a really interesting duplication method on the lathe. It looks like you have a bowl gouge, on a track (I assume it's following a pattern) - and the vacuum hose directly over it. The cut looks almost perfect right off the tool.

    What are you doing at 7:19? It looks like a laundry hose. Is it a cutting tool for rounding ?

    Very nice work. I have added a 👍, but ... please try not using loud, repetitive music. The sound of the tool is enough, and it's more realistic.

    When you were mortising the round legs I was wondering how you were going to make the cheeks on the stretchers fit tight against the round legs. Using the forstner bit for the top and bottom was brilliant, but I didn't get how you did the portion on the side of the tenon (with the router). Is that a special router bit? It looked like a dovetail bit but I'm not sure how that would work.

    • @kasho2637
      @kasho2637 3 роки тому

      Hi, The bit I'm using is a semi-original router bit. I shaved a Dove-tail bit into a slight curve using a diamond. I hope this answers your question. Thank you watching.

      @@kasho2637 Thanks for this reply. Those concave shoulders are just one of the many amazing techniques you used in building this desk. Most people would create a flat face on the leg to join the rail, your solution is much more elegant.
