Riding Rattlesnake Bike Park - Flow, Jumps, and a Growing MTB Scene!
Welcome back to Rattlesnake Bike Park in Winnsboro, South Carolina! This hidden gem has quickly become a favorite destination for mountain bike enthusiasts, thanks to its smooth flow trails, fun jump lines, and an ever-improving riding experience. In this video, I’ll share my thoughts on how the park is evolving, with trails running better than ever and the jumps feeling bigger and more exciting with every visit.
What Makes Rattlesnake Bike Park Special?
Rattlesnake Bike Park stands out in the South Carolina mountain biking scene for its creativity and innovation. With limited elevation to work with, the trail builders have done an incredible job crafting trails that maximize fun and flow. While the park doesn’t have the steep technical terrain or intense downhill trails found at larger bike parks in the region, it excels in providing a playground for riders who love smooth berms, gap jumps, and flowy rollers.
What’s changed at Rattlesnake Bike Park?
During my return to Rattlesnake Bike Park, I noticed some exciting updates. The trails are noticeably running smoother, and the features feel bigger and more polished. The jumps, in particular, are getting more dialed, offering a confidence-boosting ride for those looking to send it. It’s amazing to see how much the park has dialed in such a short amount of time, and it’s a testament to the MTB community's enthusiasm and support.
Why Visit Rattlesnake Bike Park?
Rattlesnake Bike Park offers a unique riding experience that complements other parks in the region. While it doesn’t have the rugged technical features or intense downhill runs that some riders might seek, its flow and jump trails make it a perfect spot for progression and sheer fun.

    I have the option of changing my rockshox suspension (front & rear) with ohlins soon but the maintenance costs and difficulties frighten me

    • @MTBndMore
      @MTBndMore Місяць тому

      @@Fleijah imo, ohlins customer service is superb! They respond to emails quick and are helpful with setting up suspension. As for maintenance cost it is not a large difference in cost between servicing one and the other. Rockshox is just easier to find since they’re everywhere but a lot of shops do ohlins as well

    • @Fleijah
      @Fleijah Місяць тому

      @MTBndMore I read somewhere that a bike mechanic said he bins ohlins suspension more than any other brand because customers decide against paying for repairs since replacement parts prices are close to product value. That scares me

      @MTBndMore Місяць тому

      @ I haven’t had that experience myself. But in terms of servicing, it’s not a big difference as others have made it seem. It was maybe $20 more to service vs my RS/fox? The same as servicing cane creek pretty much

      @MTBndMore that sounds a lot better. I live in Europe currently and think it might be a European problem. Ohlins is literally twice the price of ultimate RS offerings. I'll do some more research. Thanks for your input!

    My bike has the Ohlins TTX22 coil shock. I’m interested to try the air shock compared to the coil. I feel the coil keeps the rear end planted which is good when going down steep techy terrain… but I also want a more poppy feel when doing jumps.

    I went from a couple of mmmbops to the taival and love this bike. It did take me a while to start really clicking with it. Felt like a boat initially. The frame really does ride supple compared to a chromag. This stack height chainstay and geo in general is some voodoo. I see you running clipless i think im going to try it on mine. I do get strikes with 175 cranks and it would help ratchet a smidge more effortless.
