I help Spanish learners improve their communication skills in the variety typical of Mexico City so they can relate to native speakers.
South America or Latin America? Learn the right way to use these terms.
It can be confusing knowing how to use the terms “South America” and “Latin America”. As if that were not enough, in Spanish there are also the terms “Hispanoamérica” and “Iberoamérica”. Each has different implications that must be taken into consideration to be able to communicate efficiently. Learning the differences between them will allow you to better understand Mexican society and relate to native speakers in a more thoughtful way.

this is literally stuck in my head lol thank you for this video
How can this be allowed?
That sounds so authoritarian to my Mexican ears😂
@@anacrischavezmx It is about education. If I start screaming through a megaphone in front of someone's house, the police will arrest me. That is how things work in a civilized society.
I thought it was a protest the first day i was there.
Haha! It makes sense.
This song is a banger and makes me so happy!
Haha. It's very interesting to notice the very different ways people feel about this song.
I hate this sound😂 I was living there and woke up not from alarm but from this creepy sound. And this one was not the only one actually…you need to cut out your ears to be able to sleep in Mexico City. I couldn’t sleep any night fully (only 3-4 hrs) for 5 months there because of the noise (police, ambulance, trucks, buses, garbage collectors, motorcycles and etc). I lived in Asia 5 years (mostly China and Vietnam) and hadn’t experienced anything worse than noice in Mexico City 😑😑😑
Mi clase de español en Glenview IL, le gusta el video...un poco. Pero a mi me encanta (yo soy el profesor) GRACIAS!
The podcast 99% Invisible did a podcast into the history of this song. Worth a listen. Song low key slaps though when you put a beat to it.
Finally, a useful video that doesn't just repeat "Puedo ordenar?" a phrase that no one actually uses when ordering food 🤣
This is the video I’ve been looking for forever!! Thank you!!
:)
Thank you for this video. Now I know that I should stay away from CDMX 👍
lol why..amazing city. Your loss
@@lukeh2440 There are so many amazing cities and towns all over the world. I'm perfectly fine with my "loss". It's better than the loss of sleep and sanity I would experience in CDMX.
@@jae7044 don’t know what kind of accomodation you can afford/ normally stay at, but I was just in Mexico City and no issues with my sleep or sanity whatsoever
Came here from 99 percent invisible podcast.
Stuck in my head since the 99% invisible podcast did a story on this!
It’s the ringtone on my phone 📱.
I first heard this in CDMX. I don't speak Spanish so always wanted to understand what it meant. Then I found the recording is of a junk man's daughter and they sell it to other parts of Mexico. I have since heard it in Puebla and Oaxaca! Viva Mexico!
This my new alarm clock
Haha!
I have a love hate relationship with Mexico City but every time I hear this truck it makes me smile.
Man she is speaking so fast the subtitles doesn't even help if someone is watching this video they are not fluent slow it down
New subscriber. Gracias Ana.
Mucho gusto, Jane :)
Can someone please help, cause it’s been bugging me for weeks, there’s a rock type song that features this in the beginning and I can’t remember for the life of me what it’s called…
I've no idea! I've searched for it but only found the jazz version: ua-cam.com/video/gqR6ajBRBAg/v-deo.html hahaha.
Mexican Institute of Sound- Se Compran ?
maybe Hurray for The Riff Raff - The Navigator

You’re the best! Thank you!

I definitely want to create more videos! I just haven't had the time :/
Hola . I love your video
Thank you very much, Tatty! :)
Just found your video. It helped a lot!
I'm glad to hear that, Tony! Thanks for watching :)
Super helpful video thank you so much for this!!
I'm glad! Thanks for watching :)
¡Es realmente increíble! Me gustaría ver más videos de enseñanza oral de palabras de vida, como comprar medicamentos en una farmacia, recargar en una tienda de conveniencia, etc.Gracias y saludos!
¡Gracias! Espero pronto subir más. ¡Saludos!
One of the worst parts of MC imo. The awful noise pollution.
There’s 22 million people in MC… you expect it to be quiet? lol
@@steverosswick6502 did I say expected it be quiet? I've been in much bigger cities that were much quieter. MC is ridiculously noisy, even for its size. It might be one of the worst noise pollution cities in the world with those annoying scrap collectors blaring their loudspeaker advertisements all day.
@@steverosswick6502Istanbul and Shanghai has the same population but it’s quiet in the nights. And in the days too. CDMX is not for sleeping 😑🗿
muy lindo el videito y interesante
Muchas gracias, Esperanza :)
Great video thank you. What is the difference between me da and me das?
¡Gracias, Sam! :) When we say “¿me da…?”, we are using the formal you (usted), whereas “¿me das…?” is informal (tú).
You're a queen for this
Hahaha thank you, Kennedy!
Thanks for this

This is one of the most interesting and useful videos out there. Why doesn't this already have WAY more views?!!?
I know, right?! Haha jk. Thank you! I’m glad you liked it! I hope it helps :)
This video is amazing! I'm so sad you don't have more. Also, I've turned some of the phrases in this video into flash cards (for the program Anki), I have them in an excel file. Is there some way I can share them?
Thank you! I'd love to make more videos. Just need to find enough time haha. Oh! That's great! Could you send them to me? I then could upload them to Quizlet and share the vocabulary list on the description of the video.
@@anacrischavezmx Sure I sent them t your listed email!
I'm barely 3 minutes into the video and love the video lesson. Now I can learn the Mexican language from someone who is a teacher, learn the street slang, and the locals understand you clearly. You are amazing!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! :)
when he asked for "plain" I was unable to understand that word , What do you say when you want something PLAIN , without toppings or salsa? I cant seem to find this on any translator sites.
In 5:05 I say "solito". You can also say "sin nada" or "sin verdura y sin salsa". I suggest you watch the video with Spanish subtitles. It might be helpful.
Great video. Thank you
