    Could you share where exactly you guys stayed at at each park?

    • @ParksnParks
      @ParksnParks 14 днів тому

      Sure. In Zion, we stayed in the town of Springdale at the La Quinta. Any hotel in Springdale is great, very convenient. And then in Yellowstone, we stayed in the town of West Yellowstone at the Kelly Inn. We just drove through grand Teton but the town of Jackson looked like a great place to stay.

    I did the narrows last month and the water was the colour of mud and you couldn’t see the rocks beneath you. Loved it though.

    • @ParksnParks
      @ParksnParks Місяць тому

      Same here! We went in early August and man it was so murky. However, there was a relatively large flash flood the night before we did the narrows so I definitely think that contributed to the muddy color.

    That's a bold claim. What other hikes have you actually done?

    • @ParksnParks
      @ParksnParks Місяць тому

      We’ve lived in California our entire lives and have been able to hike some pretty amazing hikes here. Been to 15 US national parks so far (obviously have a lot more to go). Some other ones that stood out to us were the Kalalau trail on Kauai, Mist Trail in Yosemite, Delicate Arch in Arches, Grand Prismatic in Yellowstone, Skyline trail in Mount Rainer, Pīpīwai Trail on Maui. The Narrows remains at the top for us so far. Done it 5 times and it’s incredible every time. Curious to know which ones you think rank higher?

    You used regular boots, must hard to get dried up

    • @ParksnParks
      @ParksnParks Місяць тому

      Dried pretty quick actually. Left them outside for a couple of days and dried up fine. Have used the same boots 3 times in the narrows

    Do you need to rent the shoes and socks in end of August?

    • @ParksnParks
      @ParksnParks Місяць тому

      If the Narrows are open (which they usually always are in August, unless there is a flash flood) then you are able to rent shoes and socks and hiking sticks right at the entrance of the park in Springdale. Personally, we have been fine with some sturdy high top hiking shoes from home and a good hiking stick/pole. We’ve done the narrows 5 times and never had any issues.

    What part of September was this? I know it's a lot cooler during that time but would you have considered it good weather?

    • @ParksnParks
      @ParksnParks 2 місяці тому

      This was September 18th and it felt very much like early Fall! The weather was crisp especially at the beach but not cold enough to bring a heavy jacket. If you go, I would bring a light jacket just in case and maybe a pair of pants for the morning/evening.

      @@ParksnParks If you do visit Sedona might I also suggest Soldiers Pass and either a hike up Shnebley Hill or rent a side by side as it’s a very rough road. But at the top it offers some of the most spectacular views. If you’re in an RV I would suggest Rancho Sedona, it’s literally on Oak Creek!

      Thank you so much. And nice! I would say try to get on the first shuttle of the morning in the town of Springdale, which I believe begins around 6am or 6:30am. It’s much more convenient and you can beat the crowds of the afternoon. Keep in mind the water will be very chilly! Sorry for the late reply - hope you have fun!

      Very cold! And you don’t always get a lot of sunlight due to the height of the canyon walls. But if you go in summer, you get used to the water pretty fast and it feels so refreshing!

    • @ParksnParks
      @ParksnParks 9 місяців тому

      The cool thing about the narrows is that it is 16 miles long! You go as far as you want (however you may need a permit for the last few miles). We went a little over 2 miles in + 2 miles back + the 1-mile river walk to get to the start of the narrows, there and back. In total, we did about 6 miles.
