I downloaded TIC-80 around one week ago, and have been learning my way with it by creating little sketches. Here is a compilation of my favourites so far. You can see some of my TIC-80 sketches online at tic80.com/dev?id=8553. Featuring a quick venture of monsieur baguette into the world of TIC.

Mipmap - Ate Bit
Переглядів 992 роки тому
A 1k demo for the ZX Spectrum 128k. The entire demo fits into 1024 bytes of code. The name "Mipmap" comes from the graphical technique of providing a series of lower resolution copies of a high resolution texture in order to improve rendering speed and quality. The letters MIP comes from the Latin phrase "multum in parvo", meaning "much in little". Released March 2007. More info: www.pouet.net/...
Ahh.. the tape loading era! - Ate Bit
Переглядів 2742 роки тому
A tape streaming demo for the ZX Spectrum 128k. The demo loads data and code from tape without stopping. Whilst this sort of streaming is fairly common on disk based systems, this is, as far as I can tell, the first time that anyone had done tape streaming in this way. The name is a play on the standard ZX Spectrum ROM error message of "R Tape loading error" that would appear when tape loading ...

The Making of "YAS Brouhaha - Mikucom"
Переглядів 2382 роки тому
During the process of making the 2nd Mikucom demo, "YAS Brouhaha", I regularly took short snippets of video to share with my partner and to document the process. These snippets captured the evolution of the demo and the technology that was use to create it. Sometimes this evolution goes down a dead-end, and sometimes scenes that look great in preview need to change because they don't match the ...

Made a cover of the song here: ua-cam.com/video/If-O3ntDOwE/v-deo.html
Do you know the song title?
Sure.. it's **REDACTED** by Wally
@@evilpaul_atebit I love it, am working on a cover in protracker :)
So i remember the spectrum 48 to be able to keep 5 uncompressed screens in RAM, how many compressed pics are here instead?
There are 28 images here.. 29 if you include the title card. This is a 128k Speccy though, so there's much more memory to store them in. The images are compressed using UPKR (github.com/ivagorRetrocomp/DeUpkr), and the data is also reordered slightly beforehand to make it compress better. Very roughly speaking, the images here are compressed to about one third of their original size. This is just an average though, and it depends very much on the individual images. For examples, the PS logo towards the end of the slideshow compresses really well - from 6912 bytes down to 690, or about 10% of original size.
@@evilpaul_atebit Wish i had those tools when was teenager and trying to code in Basic and compile with softek IS or FP plus some assembly routines taken here and there ^^
@@evilpaul_atebit (btw i still hope in a pimp my spectrum real hardware version)
This slide show shows the speccy socialist edition -_-
Hii, this is so cool! Do you think it would be posible to control it via MIDI so a channel on a sequencer could change scene/effect?
Hi, thanks for the feedback :) TIC-80 doesn't support MIDI, but I don't see why it couldn't be added. Currently, scene changes are triggered by keyboard presses but if I added MIDI support to TIC-80 then, sure, note events could be used to trigger scene changes.
Помимо замечательных работ, ещё и музыка прекрасная!
nice
Ааа очень понравилось!!
Fantastic!!
Very nice. Looks even better when shown via actual ZX Spectrum video output.
WOW!! Your work is very impressive! As an MSX user I take my hat off to you.
Looking great!

The best demotool on ZX!
