American Airlines has an extremely toxic culture in so many ways. It is very well known within the company that approximately 90% of the employees who get the opportunity to “move up” are gay men. For a man who is straight, or for a woman, the opportunities just aren’t generally available. I have learned way more about gay men’s sexual escapades than I ever imagined even existed. It was information that I never wanted. We are forced to attend a “Harrassment” training session and an “Unintended Bias” training session every year, AND sign off on our understanding of it, yet it never ends. The training and the signature are simply to Cover the Company’s Ass legally. They can say in a Court of Law that they did “everything” possible to prevent the harassment simply with these required signatures, but the truth is there is absolutely zero oversight and the company does NOTHING to actually prevent harassment. Kimberly I’m so sorry for your story. It’s sad, it has gone unpunished for centuries, and I hope you’re able to heal from the trauma. I also hope your attorney is able to have the Chef’s penis cut off! This is in NO way your fault even though the victim often receives the blame. And I promise that is not my thought process in this moment. But when you went through initial Flight Attendant training, there were classes on maintaining your own safety. When I have to travel, I always check my entire room, including behind curtains and under the bed and behind the bathroom door and shower door. I make sure any window or sliding glass door is completely secured. And after I close my door, I stack every single thing I can physically move up against that door. So my only question is, when someone knocked on your door, why in the hell did you open it???? Again, we all make mistakes and you by NO means caused this or entitled the schmuck, but for future reference; secure any and every entrance to your room. My best to you through the legal process and the process of healing! 💞

American Airlines should be brought to responsibility for overlooking and minimizing this case as it has others at AA.

Unfortunately I am well aware of how Kimberly Goesling was mistreated by her employer. She was victimized, retaliated against minimized after she reported this crime. I had a very similar experience. Thank you for going public Kim. You and Gretchen are my heroes.
