Saw them in 1978 in of all places Albuquerque New Mexico. They must have been on a tour supporting their album. I had no idea who they were but my lab mate insisted I go. I was not disappointed. There were a couple of extended bass guitar solos that just knocked my socks off. And of course I really felt like a fool when I had to go back out to the car without my socks. They were superb in every respect. The guitar player had about four Ovation guitars on stage with him and he would move to each one to play it for various purposes. And of course I made a stupid joke about Standing Ovation guitars.

I would buy the CD if available!

That drumm beat shuffle is up there with Roseanna

I still have all their albums and sang along with Annie. (My limit was "Prologue", however. Whoa!) I researched to find she has the most extensive vocal range ever listed, though disagreements will always prevail. Regardless, woman is astounding. The group was incomparable, a classically-based almost operatic deliverer of what I would call music for the intelligentsia, its closest rivals (if one wishes to attempt to compare) in a whole different ballpark. The Seventies produced the greatest Classic Rock ever as disco emerged and definitely held its own. People would war over which category was better and felt they couldn't co-exist. I'll tell you they could. I still love both. You couldn't dance to Renaissance's music, but who would want to?

Annie is a beautiful and wonderful musician not only as an artist but as a person l’ll tell you why l never got to see Renaissance in the 70’s but l saw them perform in a small venue in Orlando Florida Sadly Michael Dunsford had passed on but they cancelled the concert because Annie had back surgery the venue told me to hang onto my ticket because they plan on rescheduling the show they came back and played the show which was a fantastic show some artist’s would have blown off that show and do other dates but not Annie she was committed to come back and do this show for her fans Annie loves her fans and another fan wrote how her loved and appreciated her band and music and Annie sent an e-mail back thanking the fan she truly loves her fans which is rare these days that is fan commitment she will always be special to me because of that because they very rarely do shows down here and so you better see them when you can

Lost a very wonderful friend on 5/26....I will miss her forever....Love you Debbie

You were summoned here, along with everyone else, by the ancients, to suffer and do labor simply for being less intelligent than them. That is the way and the hierarchy of the universe. If you want to move up you must simply work at it until you surpass their knowledge. One must simply communicate their way out. it's all hooked up spiritually and telepathically. The angels will come, dare you dash your feet on the rocks. Life is full of subtle communication from the sun, moon, stars, animals spirits, but nobody really pays attention. Learn to read the signs. Learn to speak. It seems much more intelligent to build a portal through magical binding than to fly around on a rocket in the vast expanse of the universe. That is a knowledge too intelligent for Earth people. Creation is in fact in the very nature of this summoning. "Let there be light" is a common communication variable that cast out those less intelligent binding them to lesser regions of the galaxies and life. In many ways life is about travelling through the dimensions and laying waste as one goes communicating to all those under oneself.

Awesome! Thank you for posting! I saw them twice in the 70s with Robin Trower. One of my 3 top bands that never aged, together with Doors and Beatles. Procol got super lucky getting BJ Wilson, he was targeted by Led Zeppelin but didn't join. Twist of fate, because Procol would have never gone that far with the drummer BJ replaced early in the game. Brooker & Co remain timeless, they are the single most unique band in the history. There is simply no one like them.
