After fitting the heat shield I still wasn't happy with the way my Regner tram's burner was sounding. I like vertical boiler locos, especially those that are based on a full sized prototype. The Chaloner has another plus in that it has twin cylinders, so is self starting. The design of the Paul tram caused Regner to make a few changes to the standard Easyline horizontal boiler. The boiler is positioned nearer the rear of the loco and the smoke box has been shortened by some 8mm. The air hole in the smoke box saddle has also been omitted. Fitted a single channel R/C to a 2015 Accucraft Ragleth, so this is the first chance I've had to test it works OK, which it did. As usual the Ragleth proves to be a powerful loco and really should have had a rake of carriages to pull instead of the first small two I grabbed.
