I mostly use the Assimil8or as a sound source, mainly for percussion and resampling. But I'm curious to explore modulation functionality a bit more, particularly phase modulation.

It's an Erica Synths Drum Sequencer, I use the mute functionality to trigger percussion or modulation envelopes. Mutes are great for transitions, especially in techno to shift between elements and contrast. I'd like to get something that does the same with audio, I currently use mixer pots but it's fiddly. Appreciate you checking out my channel. I enjoyed your Techno Tuesday video and subbed.

Ahh ok, yeah I was kind of hoping what you were using was for audio signals. Haha the techno tuesday thing is just a way for me to learn more, it was a very loose recording haha

Thanks! The Morpheus is cool, it's very deep. I usually run the DPO through a more traditional filter or wavefolder, mainly for immediacy. I use the Mopheus more for sculpting atmosphere and soundscapes. But I'm still exploring it's features, there's so many different algorithms!

Thanks! I don't do much in terms of preparation. Usually I limit myself to a small set of percussion one shots for a couple of months. This forces me to get creative with pitching, bit rates, start and end points etc. For loops I time stretch in Ableton so I've got a selection at 139-143 bmp. But again I work with a limited set of loop samples for a few months. Would love to do a video about the Assimil8or sometime, just not sure my skills are worth it at this stage! 🤣

Thanks for the detailed reply. That does sound good. I think it's great to work with a limited number of samples. A drummer doesn't change the bass drum during a gig unless it breaks. The point is that the samples you use have to be right. Make a video with the Assi. Nothing ventured, nothing win.

The melodic part is all the metropolix. I was adding and removing gates to create melodic variety. It was only using one of the two tracks available.

Hi 👋 it's great for drum sequencing. It's really easy and intuitive to use, with lots of performance features. It's also got a CV and gate track that's useful for basslines or lead sequences. It's quite a large module but it's definitely worth the space. I highly recommend it 😄
