Hi Héctor ! The bartolini are excellent, certainly better than the yamaha pick ups, but the mama pick us are a little more incisive and in the end I preferred them !

Now I use Mama B6 pick ups, very similar to the Bartolini G6 but even more dynamic. They are pick ups perfectly equal to the original yamaha so they fit perfectly. Specifically, I can't tell you what kind of Bartolini g6 I used before. By :)

Ok so because an instrument is meant to come with a type of pickups you can't change them even tho you don't like the sound? What kind of closed mind logic is that? It's like saying that if a room is painted in black you can't change it's colour even tho you prefer Red

Hi, unfortunately I can't advise you. When you change the electronics you always know later if it sounds good or not. However, I have always liked most of Bartolini electronics.

+alexeyzavolokin Hello, thank you :) Well, after upgrading the sound has become more real, more manageable. Electronics and pick up yamaha have their own sound, very typical, very good in some contexts but not in others. Example: the sound Jaco after the upgrade has become much more satisfactory, with the old configuration it was difficult to obtain. In other types of bass sound is much improved, I'm happy!

Ciao :) Allora da premettere che non sono io il committente delle modifiche ma il precedente proprietario(ho acquistato il basso usato)e il lavoro è stato eseguito da Piero Terracina "The guitar doctor". Poi in seguito ho fatto fare altri cambiamenti all'elettronica e pick ups. ma hai idea di ciò ke gli è venuto a costare tutto il lavoro?

non saprei, posso solo dirti che le modifiche successive , cioè cambiare pick-ups ed elettronica , mi sono costate 450 euro. Ora il basso monta i bartolini g6 ed elettronica bartolini. :)
