Is this cast iron or forged iron? Cast iron is very weak and breaks easily.
Dont for get to remove the casting flaws on your next restoration.

Hier wurde nicht versucht, aus einem gebrauchten Schraubstock einen fabrikneuen zu machen. Sehr gelungene Arbeit. Toller Schraubstock, mit dem man auch gerne wieder arbeiten möchte.👍

I like your practical approach to restoration, no paint stripper no bondo no metal plating. A vise is not a car there is no purpose to restore it like it is. If you plan to use it why would anyone do that I mean what you did I’m sure still looks better then new!
