Spent a day surfing and playing on the lower James River in Richmond, VA with the water level at 4.0 ft on the gauge listed on the American Whitewater site! Joined by fellow paddler Jennifer, paddling her packraft for the first time, we both had an excellent day on the James at low water in Early November.
I used to guide whitewater professionally to support my kayaking habit but marriage and kids left whitewater to be a once in a year event. With the nest now almost empty, I have rediscovered my love of paddling and share it with my trading community and fellow paddlers.
