Lake O'hara The Opabin Plateau (Canadian Yosemite)
Lake O'hara The Opabin Plateau.
Lake O’Hara is generally regarded as the crown jewel of the Rockies (sometime called the Canadian Yosemite Valley). Its is found on the BC side of the Great Continental Divide, there are hanging valleys, glaciers, pristine blue lakes, verdant alpine meadows, waterfalls, and picturesque cabins. This hiking and camping area is located in Yoho National Park, in British Columbia, Canada. It is only accessible by bus or walking in (public vehicles and bikes are not allowed on the road to Lake O’Hara).

Teapot Mountain Trail is located approx 57km North of Prince George from the intersection of Hwy 16 and 97. Turn west of the highway at Tallus Rd and then keep right. Welcome to Sun Peaks British Columbia. This is a 12km loop trail to McGillivray Lake Cabin. The track starts and ends P5 Parking Lot. Although is this a "Snowshoe" trail it was hard packed due to the almost no new snow for several days. Alexander Mackenzie Heritage Trail to Telegraph Trail located near Prince George BC Canada. The AMHT is located approx 77km from the Hwy 16 and 97 intersection in Prince George. Travel 9.6km west from the intersection and turn south onto the Blackwater Rd. Follow for 65km. If you cross the Blackwater river you just missed it. the trail up to AMHT parking area at the top of the hill is maintained by the Caledonia Ramblers along with the rest of the Blackwater Canyon Trail and we also maintain the AMHT up 64km.
