Hi! My name is Sarah and I am a Toronto based artist currently working in the film industry as a prop maker.
On this channel I do a lot of Pyrography art videos; Pyrography means "writing with fire" and is the art of burning images into wood and other materials. I started working in this medium in high school and have been doing it ever since.
I also make other kinds of art and love to try new things, so I think there will be some more different kinds of projects on this channel in the future.
I always upload my videos on Fridays and will attempt to do 1-4 videos a month depending on life, so if you like what you see, you can check back on Fridays for new content. Also, make sure to subscribe to see all of my creations!

Very nicely done. Thanks for sharing.
First time to your site, you are an amazing artist! You should have a ton of comments you deserve them. I too have this Razertip unit and I got mine in 2015 and still going strong. Your video quality is great. The camera angle the speed of showing your work as you go. Your voice and explanation and background music are wonderful. It was a joy to watch and learn. Thanks so much for sharing your talent. I will continue to watch. I’m on the older side of life but love to learn when I can from talented artists!
Thank you Sis for inspiring the audience, especially those who are learning pyrography. I really like the results of your work, congratulations on your work and success.❤
Thank you! I’m glad you like it
what did you call the pen you used for the lines.
I used the knife tip
Beautiful as always. Razertip should sponsor you.
lol why would they pay when I talk about them for free? 😆
Omg what a talent ❤
Thank you 😊
Beautiful! Love the composition. No colour needed in my opinion.😊
Thanks! 😊
very nicely tone. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you :)
So beautiful! I don't think it needs color at all.
Thanks! 😊
Beautiful! No color needed imo
Thank you 😊
Thank you Sis for sharing your knowledge about pyrography which is very useful, especially for me as a beginner to continue learning. Greetings of health and success❤
Thanks! I’m glad you find it useful :)
No colour needed, it’s a gorgeous burn 🥰
Thank you! 😊
No color needed. Its beautiful. I am just learning how to figure this stuff out. Please I want to see more.
Thank you! I’m working on another one right now, check back next Friday :)
@@WildwoodStudio I certainly will and ty :)
What finished you used with color?
I used the Varathane Diamond wood finish in a spray can. The only thing with water colour is it has to be a spray varnish, cause brushing it can smudge the colours.
I like the color. I like both but the color is more vibrant
Awesome! Thank you
Thanks! 😊
What are you pricing your art at? If you don't mind me asking. Great work, great tips.😊
It depends on the piece. I usually base my prices on an hourly rate. I sell my art very intermittently though, so I don’t really remember specific numbers, sorry 😆
Your work is beautiful and you're very talented. And your paints are available I took a picture a snapshot from the video and ran it through Google lens and it gave me a whole bunch of options including Amazon
Thanks! :) I tried Googling it and didn’t find anything. Was it this burning specifically?
What name is the surface which you used for this work..?
I’m sorry, I’m not sure what you mean. It’s on a wooden artist panel, I think birch?
Is there a need to apply a top coat/finish to the project after it’s burned?
I think there probably is. I’ve been looking at some different finishes and have to do some tests.
Nice job Sarah! I like eye composition. The metal bracket adds an interesting feature.😊
Thanks! 😊
😍 beautiful art x
Thank you! 😊
🤯
😮😮😮🤐🤯🤯🤯🫨🫨🫨
I lightly sand after I burn and that gets rid of pencil marks.
Espectacular!!!
Thank you! 😊
Exelente trabajo!!
Thanks!
loved the color!
Thanks!
Beautiful ❤ xXx Subscribed.
Thank you! 😊
Fire
Thanks
Awesome work, first time seeing added colour to wood burning
Thanks! :)
Just beautiful! Thanks for an excellent demo!
Thank you!
Very nice. Thank you
Thank you too! :)
The natural style chipmunk in a line art environment makes the chipmunk pop. Also it's an allegory of what I see every day with my numerous inquisitive chipmunk visitors investigating my deck furniture....
I really like the chipmunk! The flowers are less realistic than the chipmunk and in my opinion it creates a contrast in styles, but overall it's really good!
Yeah I thought so too. Couldn’t decide if that was a good thing or not. it was an experiment and I think I’m happy with it. Thanks! :)
Beautiful! I think the flowers really work. It looks like the chipmunk is sniffing the top little bud. Ads to the feeling of action in the picture.
Thanks! 😊
Wow! Awesome job! I also wood burn and what you said about pet portraits is so so true! I’ve done several dog portraits and the way you shade with the fur is sooo much easier than skin. I was just commissioned for my first portrait of a person and I’m nervous! I have only done a self portrait and I felt it easier because I could fill in the parts that weren’t too visible in the picture because I know me😂 but I don’t know the person I’m doing and it’s someone who has passed away so I feel a lot of pressure it get it just right. Thanks so much for posting this I think it will really help me with my project. You are an amazing artist!
Thank you! I did one of someone who had passed too, and the picture was really blurry, so I was super nervous. Good luck with your portrait! :)
Both are really great but overall, I prefer coloured....
Thank you 😊
Very good art
Thank you
I like them both ❤
Thanks! :)
I brought a small wooden chest from the works, tryed burning into it it was ok but what would you recomend to use as it was like craft wood or something
Basswood is the easiest to burn in my opinion. With boxes it’s hard to find ones made of a specific type of wood unless you want to make them yourself. I think the box I did in this video was some sort of craft wood as well.
Beautiful ❤I love its ❤
Thank you 😊
The box turned out awesome great job
Thank you!
They look amazing, I saw in another video you did, at the end you had them on a round base, what did you use for the base stand?
Thank you! I think that was just for clear coating them, so it was just a plastic dram cup that I taped them to so I had something to hold when the clear coat was wet.
@@WildwoodStudio Thanks
Nice work i do wood burning also but i do native art on boxes and what ever else i can wood burn lol i buy boxes from the stores and go home and do my work and your right it takes along time to wood burn 7:07
Thanks! Thats cool :) I have so many boxes at home already, I need to burn a lot more often!
How do u do the first drawing on the wood?
I think I just free handed this one with a pencil. Usually I do the drawing in my sketchbook and transfer it with tracing paper
Thanks, I appreciated ur response
Beautiful work!! I love both! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Awesome.
Thanks!
Here’s how I transfer to leather. Dampen the leather, tape flat to desk. Tape Saran Wrap over the leather and stretch to remove all wrinkles. Tape drawing onto the Saran Wrap, trace with a ballpoint pen. There’s no black lines but an indentation instead so nothing to erase.
Great tip, I’ll try that next time, thanks!
thank you, I have enjoyed. I am just beginning lol and 70 yrs old :) So you see I am a very raw beginner :)
Thanks for your comment, I’m glad you liked the video. Never too late to try a new hobby! Good luck with your burnings :)
@@WildwoodStudio Thank you 😊
