Thank you for this - now I'm ready! Someone in the comments mentioned using GLUE BOARDS. PLEASE DO NOT USE GLUE TRAPS AS THEY ARE VERY INHUMANE. Trapped in the glue and terrified, animals can take days to die of starvation, dehydration, and exposure.

Forget it! Snappy traps are always a pain in the ass to set. Save yourself the hassle go at Canadian Tire, buy some sticky traps and bait in the middle a little blop of peanut butter. I guarantee you will catch a mouse.

also, sometimes the trigger wire, is slightly too short, and the staple that connects it to the wood needs to be bent slightly forward so it doesn't keep slipping before you can set it properly... not always as easy as it seems to set these things. some traps you get lucky with, others need to be tweeked a little before you can make them usable

Before you setup the Triger you better put the peanut butter , or a small piece of cheese then setup the trigger . Because if you do that after setting up the Trigger , it will be pupped when you add the cheese.

Definitely a piece of a Slim Jim. Because it attaches firmly. A piece of cheese, bacon or peanut butter can be taken by a smart rat or mouse without setting the trap. They're extremely intelligent.

  • @TheSirRip

OK demo on how to ARM and bait, but still you miss THE most important detail of actually CATCHING vermin. And that is trap placement. First, any form of laying them horizontal on a flat surface is the weakest way to place them. Rats more so than mice, learn to lay down on the bail or locking bar, to 'safely' springing the traps without catching anything. It may seem an E-ticket ride, but they get the bait and you are left with thier turds. Placing the traps VERTICALLY, by pinning them to the wall, approximately the WIDETH of the trap from the floor, will GUARANTEE a successful catch every time. Attaching it to a seperate larger board at the correct height, will facilitate deployment and resetting. Your all welcome...
