With 11,000 planted acres of sugar beets, harvest on Gudajtes Family Farm of Minto, North Dakota is no small task. It takes long hours, good help, and nearly 100 vehicles to complete a task at this scale. SUGARBEET MAFIA follows the owners and crew throughout a week of harvest and will reveal what it takes to make an operation of this scale work.

You plant the beets, we "the people" will show up to help harvest. My wife and I had a great time last year and we are looking forward to the 2024 Beet Harvest in Drayton, ND. It's an exciting time for all who make the trip to Drayton ND. It's hard, fast paced work with all the Gudajtes Family farmers (Sugar Beet Mafia) plus American Crystal Sugar and the Unbeetable Beet Harvest Experience working all together to bring the beet harvest in. Love this job.

This video hit me a little different than I expected! The crew at Gudajtes Family Farm has been the best job experience I have ever had. This crew is beyond amazing I feel crew don't even begin to describe the people this is a FAMILY! The farm helped me through one of the toughest times of my life. A place to stay when I had lost everything a income a job no discrimanation don't matter who you where your from they will invest in you if you invest in them! No matter what i'm doing or where I am these guys call i'll dropping everything and be there BIG THANKS JAY LEE JOHN

This is quite interesting. I don't quite understand how the sugar shares work though. Is that an annual or one time cost? And are the number of shares roughly based upon how much the mill can process?
1 share is about a value of $4500, and gives the owner the right to deliver .83 acres to the factory. The factory is limited by epa on how many days it can operate so the company sets the amount per share you can deliver. Once you own the share you can deliver that amount each year, so 1 time cost.
