CRF450L riding national forest single track. Plenty of sand and whoops
3rd venture on the Honda CRF 450 L aka CRF 450 RL. After this round I definitely had a better feel for the clutch / throttle in slower technical stuff. I really enjoy this machine, but the slow speed stalling is something that you have to adapt to. Much smoother and faster paced ride on the trails after getting a feel for the bike. I have ordered the Steahly fly wheel weight and Taco Moto ECU which will make all of this disappear. I really enjoy the CRF 450 L it handle very well on pavement and highway speeds, but also really can tackle off road single track, jumps, sand, mud, rock....you name it. A very impressive machine for sure!

CRF450L In Sam Houston National Forest Single Track Trails
Переглядів 156День тому
After my third trip to Sam Houston on the CRF 450 L, I'm finally getting the bike figured out. The stalling is a constant battle at low speed, but throttle control and clutch control make a big difference once you get the feel of it. I have a fly wheel weight and new ECU on the way that should make a huge difference once installed.
Honda CRF450RL in Deep Sand and Offroad Skills Practice

I'm just starting to get a better feel for the Honda CRF 450 RL offroad. This video is mixed terrain of deep sand, ascents, descents, ruts, rocks and more. When bored sometimes I just stop and practice power turns, wheel lifts and pivot turns.
Honda CRF 450L trail riding in deep sand using a JD Jetting tuner, need to compare to a vortex ecu
Переглядів 5421 день тому
This is only my third time off road with my (new to me) Honda CRF 450L. My assumption was the bike came with a vortex ecu installed, however to my surprise it is a JD Jetting tuner. I don't know much about either product but it does appear the true ecu's are higher rated. I'm going to play with the settings on the JD jetting tuner to see if I can improve the stalling I seem to have at lower spe...
Sam Houston National Forest trail riding on my Honda CRF 450L very different than on the Tenere 700
Переглядів 11021 день тому
Now that the Sam Houston National Forest trails opened back up I made it a point to get there asap. Still recovering from a leg injury but still a blast! I really enjoy the Honda CRF 450L, its a great machine for trails and even most pavement situations. My bike has numerous modifications to improve fuel delivery, exhaust, seat, tank capacity, suspension, brakes and more... but even stock these...
What boots to get for adventure motorcycle riding....Not what you think
Переглядів 52Місяць тому
I recently had a spill due to some gravel being spread over top of pavement at an intersection. The front tire washed and the 450# with luggage went down on my right leg. I was wearing adventure riding boots by forma. These are highly rated and definitely not cheap boots. This experience showed me that even if you are not hitting trails, single track or gnarly off-road stuff, you should still h...
Hill Country Adventure Group Ride. Off-roading with a loaded down Tenere 700
Переглядів 67Місяць тому
This was a group ride of 16 adventure bikes! We decided to do a test run (before taking a longer overnight trip). We explored different routes along the way and landed in the TX Hill Country area. Our overnight destination had a great offroad area that was a mix of two track and single track. I was fully weighted down on my Tenere 700 with full gear and about 60# of extras. I'm also still runni...
First ride Honda CRF450L Offroad, highway... Superior to my T7 offroad but nice to have both!
Переглядів 92Місяць тому
Just picked up a new dual sport (aka ultra light adventure bike). I've been really looking over reviews, videos, forums and everything to narrow down the search. I wanted to be under 300# but also stable at highway speeds. After my online research and discussions with owners of competitive models I decided on the Honda CRF450L. I'm aware of the others KTM 500, 690 and Husky counterparts. Suzuki...
Tenere 700 in the woods after some heavy storms
Переглядів 13Місяць тому
Logged over 300 miles today on the T7. I road 200 miles on pavement and 100 miles of trails and forest roads and enjoyed every minute of it. The T7 is an amazing machine capable of comfortable touring and enjoyable offroad action!
Tenere 700 offroad in forest service roads and wooded trails
Переглядів 24Місяць тому
Tenere 700 cruising some offroad trails and forest roads after a heavy storm. This was a sandy, whoop type area of single track. A little slick but a lot of fun on a T7. I road 100 miles of highway with the Tenere 700 to ride 100 miles of offroad adventure! There really aren't many bikes that can do both well. The T7 is heavy but it's a beast and very capable.
(2) Tenere 700's in some sloppy offroad conditions...lots of work but lots of fun!!!

Today I headed North to meet up with Ty from the Deep East TX FB group. We ventured around his stomping grounds after a heavy rainstorm. We both ride Yamaha Tenere 700's and had a blast on some single track, logs, forest service roads, sand, mud, water, whoops.... you name it we found it! The Tenere 700 is a blast. Today was 100 miles of offroad action on the T7 with quite a bit of highway mile...
Tenere 700 cruise control options

There are many solutions to cruise control on the Tenere 700 aka T7....I went with the Kaoko throttle lock. It works great for long stretches of highway.
Tenere 700 in deep sand and gravel. With new suspension the T7 shines!

Another ride on my Tenere 700 Ohlins suspension upgrade. Was flawless and I don't feel any further adjustments are needed at this point. Today's trip was about 250 miles through the Sam Houston National forest and some connecting back country roads. The T7 does phenomenal on the highway (as seen in video) and also exceptional off road. This is pretty basic offroad riding stuff, but I have taken...
Tenere 700 offroad with new suspension upgrades
Переглядів 822 місяці тому
After finishing my Ohlins fork and rear shock upgrade I went out for some trail clearing and testing (after adjusting). The forks performed much better in sand after backing off the preload a bit. Ignore the stalling, still trying to burn up the bad fuel I put into the tank the day before. This is a trail system just outside my home town, not gated or posted and owned by local government. Not a...

I appreciate the effort it takes to make a video. I watched this to see how to remove the bags. You summarized everything except how to remove the bags. You stood in front of the camera while releasing the latch, so I learned nothing about the bag removal. Thanks for the effort, though; nice bike.
